What he said, and even dafter, you have put the battery in the right way?

Try expanding the spring in the cap a bit, especially if the battery rattles.

Failing that, the only thing I can think of, is the negative wire has desoldered itself from either the board or the top cap.
If you have an iron, and it is that, its a relatively easy fix.

The battery is charged?

Do you have a different battery to try, as well as stretching the spring a bit.

Unscrew the top cap, and screw theextender tube on, and carefully wiggle it free. If it turns on, its not the negative wire.
