I was also surprised by the bold health experts opinion so dropped them an email :-

It's a little worrying health experts saying there is no proof ecigs stop smoking, who are they asking ? Perhaps they should consider joining a vaping forum and polling opinion there.
My wife and I both smoked around 25 cigarettes a day for the last 30 years or so. On 19th November 2013 we purchased ecigs and have smoked zero cigarettes since nor have we had a craving to smoke a cigarette.
That's proof enough for me.

There are so many articles around on the net, and you've only got to read the comments underneath such articles to realise there are loads of peeps given up smoking with ecigs.
