I have a Samsung NC10 netbook. It comes with a single 1gb DDR2 SDRAM module. I have upgraded this to 2gb. Does anyone know if these modules are available in higher capacities - e.g. 4gb?

I'd google the computers model, had same issue with my MSI wind but found it could only take 2gb max.

I would expect 2gb to be the max. Do Crucial offer a memory finding tool?
Is it Windows XP, some kind of lite version?

To use a 4GB stick, a BIOS update would be needed. You'll probably find a BIOS hasn't been written to allow 4GB to be used. However, especially with a few tweaks, 2GB should be plenty for W7 Starter

I'm awaiting a 2gb upgrade from Crucial for my son's netbook. It's a Samsung NF110. I'm not sure if the 2gigs will make it any better as it has almost stopped running at the minute... But I think at least te memory upgrade might give it enough strength to let me repair it The Samsung Recovery is useless and I think whoever owned it before has wiped the recovery disc. It's turning into a bit of a long term mission for me! And definitely a +1 for Crucial, I've used their scanner tool and their store a few times now and can't fault them. When I logged in to pay for my last order, I got a message saying "You have received a further reduction"... There was no need for them to do this as i was just about to pay at the checkout, but it was about 20% off... Great stuff!

I stuck the full win 7 on mine, really needs the extra ram though as it's still running the 1gb that came with it, works fine mostly but once in a while it has to freeze up and buffer a bit then off it goes again ha ha. Need a bigger work bench so to speak.

Thanks Gunjack! It actually arrived yesterday and I spent all day working through a similar guide, also did a drive wipe and disk defragment. It seems to be running perfectly now! Problem is... I was using my own laptop as a guinea pig in some of the processes and I've managed to do something kind of silly! Still works ok but I lost a LOT of stuff! You live and learn eh? Or sometimes don't learn in my case!

I'd just chuck windows 8.1 on it, will outperform any version of windows 7 and uses far less RAM out of the box. Performs exceptionally well on low-end machines.

In my opinion you can't take a memory of 4 gb for that netbook...2 gb is the max.
