I had exactly the same thing happen with a Riva battery, using an LR Dual Coil - hence why I feel I can no longer recommend using very low LR's on the Riva battery. However, as Jason says, you should have been OK using a CE3.

I've used my riva's for 1.6ohm dual coils, 2&3ohm boges, both of the ce3s, 2ohm buds and clockworks 2ohm dripping attie- clearo's, LR atties - everything but start the car with em ??? never had any hint of a problem. I did have an attie that took out a passthrough and a 3.7high drain don battery due to shorting out so It does seem very likely that a rogue batch of ce3s are the cause. As said above, I would disgard the pack before they do more damage or if you can, test them on a meter and if they are faulty send em back. What seems to happen to the riva batteries is if an attie shorts out instead of blowing then the switch overloads and burns out.

As Jason says...if the CE3 is not a LR then it probably is a "bad one"...
Also interesting that Blakey has not experienced the problems others have had with the old Riva but then again thats the unpredictability of this hobby...!!!
Hope you get sorted.
Later...

I've mostly been using dual coils (since someone kindly sent me one to try) on my riva and not had any problems yet. I say yet cos I'm sure now I will lol

Well it's all getting sorted now - I'm sending the batt and the CE3s back to the supplier this morning and he's replacing the batt and sending me a couple of atties or 'safe' cartos. So all's well that ends well All I need to find now is some nice juice and I'm sorted

Nice juice may take a little longer. I'm drowning in the stuff and still only have 2 that are ok. I think I really like them, vape them to death then I'm not sure after a week :/
Good luck
Nats x

Glad your supplier is sorting you out, Andy I'm very lucky with juices, can't taste hardly anything so I can vape nearly anything (except Aftershock ). scylla
