Just put a CE3 cartomiser on a Riva battery, pressed button to take a pull but got no vapour and the blue light stays on.
I've quickly taken the carto off the battery and the blue light is still stuck on.
That was 10 minutes ago and the light is still on but the battery isn't at all warm.
Any ideas what's happened folks?

Not sure about the battery, but don't put the CE3 on anything else, it sounds like it may be shorted.

I have read a few posts lately (more on UKV) about a possible dodgy batch of CE3's.
I think Ian on here had a problem, but I've had no reports of anything yet myself.
It's not good though if that is the case because there is no way of checking them without taking them out of the foil.

Unless the button on the Riva stayed in when it was released ??? Just sayin'... just in case. Variations on that model can have dodgy buttons. scylla

I've read issues with the CE3's shorting out batteries or throwing up errors on provaries etc i hope it hasnt damaged yours Andy
when i had a dodgy battery i googled and one suggestion was to put it on charge and that could reset it... didn't work for me but worth a try maybe ?

Hi All - the battery is brand spanking new, only received it this morning and put it on charge.
It ran one of the Riva atties fine then I decided to try one of the CE3s I had with the original order.
Wish I hadn't now - and yes the blue button light is still on.

If the CE3 is LR then that could be the problem right there...
I put a LR on a Riva battery and when I pressed the button it fired and staed on...I unscrewed the Carto and tried again but the battery was dead - I thought that it might not have been fully charged and so tried a second Riva Battery - same thing happenned!!!
OVERALL RESULT - TWO FRIED RIVA BATTERIES....
I spoke with Lisa over at Cloud 9 and she did say that really Riva Batteries are not designed to work with LR Cartos/Attys and she even has a disclaimer on the Riva products to that effect (Note to self - Read the small print!!!) She did replace one of them at no extra cost mind you...!!!
Some people have had NO PROBLEMS with them but I guess I was just unlucky...
I do use my eGO Battery (1100mAh) with LR and they seem OK.
Later...

CE3s are 2.8 to 3.1 ohm - that's what it says on the box.
This is a brand spanker new batt this morning sent by the retailer to replace one from the original order.
It ran a riva ato and cartridge perfect for about ten minutes until the juice ran out so I thought I'd try a CE3.
If I screw the riva atty back on the light goes out. If I press the button the blue light blinks once, and if I remove the atty the light comes back on permanently.

The CE3's aren't LR so I wouldn't expect that to be the problem, more likely to be a short.
They come in 2 resistances, the lowest of which is 2.4-2.7ohms.
The Riva should have no problem with that.

Sorry crossed posts then Andy - it is the CE3 that is the problem so don't use that one or any of the others in the same pack unless you have means of testing them first.
If you bought them from me, send me an email, if not, contact the vendor.
