And how much did you say you wanted for it again Super-Shiny? Where are the buttons, display, and micro usb going to be? I'd like a layout similar to this: BUT with centrered horizontal display and different buttons... Would be cool to have the usb on the back towards the top too..

Dan Everything will be on the right side of the mod, firing button, up & down buttons, display. The only thing that will be on the front will be the USB socket as i am very restricted to space, i could put it at the side with the other stuff if i changed the battery holder for bare battery connectors, but i choose for safety reasons to have a insulated/secure holder. Safety is my main priority over anything else and if i have to suffer for it than so be it. Something a bit like this:

Dan little picture of the progress, since this photo i have touched up the box more and coated it. Just need tomorrow to fix the USB into place and cut out the hole for it and put all you see in the picture into the box.

Looking good Super-ShinyOut of interest, why did you decide against a flush fitting 510?

Looking good Super-ShinyOut of interest, why did you decide against a flush fitting 510? My main concern for the top base was that i wanted something that can easily be removed without taking the whole thing apart, in theory you can just unscrew the base and pull out the wire that connects to the center pin and de-solder and replace the top base if you ruin the center pin as the negative pin is not attached to the base, it is attached to the bolt on the inside of the box to a bolt that holds the base in place. Another plus for the airflow control base is when a atty like a kayfun is fitted that does not rely on bottom air holes you can just UN-screw the top cap to fill the gap if there is one.

So basically preparing for failure as opposed to failing to prepare.. is the 510 quite shallow then? I've had to file down the insulators on two of my kayfuns to get them sitting flush on my danis.. proper PITA! Can't be doing with gaps though so had to be done! Got to be honest, I'm very tempted to build my own mod later in the year. Just a case of weighing pros and cons up though.. one thing about the dna I don't like is no internal function to completely power down.. only sleep.. what I would love is to have something with the evics display with high ac output. Dna screen is lacking somewhat for me..

So basically preparing for failure as opposed to failing to prepare.. Yep, imo it's best to have a mod that can be repaired very easily without taking the whole thing apart, with this way it can be repaired very easily.is the 510 quite shallow then? It's not so much of a shallow thing, it's more along the lines of how much room you have to mess around with inside the box (very little) and with the airflow control base it gave me lots more room to mess around with as only the base screw goes into the box.I've had to file down the insulators on two of my kayfuns to get them sitting flush on my danis.. proper PITA! Won't be a problem with this as the top of the base can just screw up to fill the gap, only downside is the base is 20mm so slight overhang.Got to be honest, I'm very tempted to build my own mod later in the year. Just a case of weighing pros and cons up though.. one thing about the dna I don't like is no internal function to completely power down.. only sleep.. It's not so much of a problem as i don't think it drains any battery power in sleep mode, go for it m8, it is so much fun building your own.what I would love is to have something with the evics display with high ac output. Dna screen is lacking somewhat for me.. We can never have the best of both worlds

Forgot to add Dan forget about the power of the DNA and what it does, making your own mod easily outweighs the specs, it really is fun making your own mod once you have all the parts. Bit like when i was a little kid and made model airplanes, loved the finished product and could not wait to make my next one....sense of achievement is a great feeling. I myself don't give a damm about how many watts etc etc.
