I've been given the green light to shop and was looking at myepack. I'm looking for something with a bit more meat to it (minus the weight of the VTR) and spotted the Vamo V5. Anyone have good or bad opinions on it? Is there some other mod I should be considering instead? Also ordering a couple of Kanger Aerotanks and replacement parts, but need help spending here. OH has said get whatever I want and that's when I usually freeze up and hardly buy anything at all! I already have the VTR, two iTaste v3's, iclear 16's & mini protank 2v2's, but if there's anything else on the myepack site you reckon I should get, tanks or otherwise, give a shout. I'm a horrible shopper and need help!

Hi newdawnI have both the V5 and the aerotank. I love both of them. In fact I am vaping with them together right now. The Vamo has been a great work horse and never let me down. I have a girlie purple one which looks great. The Aerotank I love too. I seem to get a much better flavour than with my protanks. I love the adjustable airflow on it too. I definitely recommend both of them. I haven't tried any of the other new tanks released recently, but the Aerotank is definitely up there. I know Sadie at uke-cigcabin.com stocks them.

Well I have a MVP2 and a Vamo. guessing the MVP and VTR are simular build quality. I would say that the build on the MVP2 is a million times better than the Vamo. Also after buying the vamo I did notice a lot more help me's on Vamo issues. well I have had my MVP for 5 months no issues (apart from having to raise the pin early on when i tighten too much) I have had a Vamo for about 2 months and it played up from the start and the pin then fell off. so 2 months in I sent it for repair (kindly done for free from chap on here and on its way back now) Could have been me being heavy handed but looking at it now properbly not. so reading up and my experiences I would go with not as reliable as It could be. oh and the new ones have bigger pin and likely more issues ,so iam told) I could just have been unlucky getting a bad one or something. so listen to other regarding Vamo and see what they think. will PM u another point too. so if If they both broke tomorrow what would I not buy again. I know I will get Vamo users that will say other wise but just my opinion.
* even while I was typing this u had a plus for the Vamo so better to get the general opinion *

I'm pretty flexible regarding type of mod, but definitely want the right size to suit an Aero tank without weighing a ton.

I have 2 Vamos, and have had good use from them both. My original V2 is what I am using right now, albeit with an Airflow Controller on it to save the threads on the top cap which are getting a bit loose. raid2506 kindly replaced a switch on my other SS v2 and that is now working perfectly too, although the threads are a bit dodgy on that too. Would I buy another one? Hmm, I think so as for £22 from FT they have worked out at about a £1 per month for usage, and that is not at all bad. an 18650 lasts the best part of two days in them, they are good and solid and as they are cheap as chips I don't mind taking them anywhere. I have also read about problems others have had but all in all they are a good workhorse and not expensive. There's only one way to find out if they do the job for you!

I would agree with the above. The vamo is great but the threading failed on mine in about 2 months and on another one i had within a month! I have now got an svd which is so much better built but it does look a bit silly.
Have you thought of a nice nemisis clone and kick? its much smaller then the vamo/svd and it looks really nice and clean.

would be interesting to know if its the old ones that are more reliable and the new ones that are more problematic

I'd kicked around the idea of the nemisis, but I'm worried I'm not advanced enough for those types. Have been searching around the net and found loads of issues with the threading on Vamos which has me worried. I'd rather pay more for something that won't cause problems in a couple of months.

Hmmm. I bought an eVic. That didn't work out great value, unless Raid the magician can do something. I may have got it for about £65 in multiple parts, but they are basically £100. £20 a month if you get 5 months. I have a Vamo. It's not perfect, but it does the job. If it last a few months, that'll be better value. Can you put a price/budget on these things? Maybe.... but that makes cheap mechs excellent value (as long as your kick holds out, if you use one) and...dare I say it.... A Provari that lasts 2 years might end up being the best value option. That is where I'll go next in all honesty.

I have a vamo and can't fault it. It's been reliable and I have had no problems at all with it so would recommend it to anyone.

I've had a v4 since July, so just over 6 months, and the fire button is just beginning to play up. Apart from that, it has been a cracking workhorse. I would recommend it. But I do really miss my MVP. Doesn't hit as hard as the vamo (IMO) but a cracking device none the less.

Do people with SS vamos have the threading problem? I've had a vamo (V2 I guess) for a year of pretty heavy use and never had threading problems. The pin did go a couple of months back, and I've fixed that a couple of times now. Also at about the same time it got more iffy about turning on - which you have to do when you change the battery - can take 2 or 3 tries. Which is a bit irritating when the OH is watching telly next to you.
For all that, I think I prefer it to the SVD I bought when I got nervous about the vamo dying on me. The menu system on the SVD isn't as good, I don't think it is all that pretty, I suspect that the pin set-up is no better than the vamo, and worst of all, it is inclined to turn off - I think because I take long draws, but it is a 3-click to turn off or on, and so if you are in the habit of pumping it a little it is easy to do by mistake. Easy enough to turn on, but irritating.
My black Lavatube is nice, has none of these problems and weighs a lot less, but doesn't tell you the resistance.

Just spotted a Sigelei Zmax which looks pretty good too. Now I'm even more confused!
