Batteries are classified as a restricted item, so they need to be sent some form of special service, as long as they are sent with a device. Ejuice has NO restrictions which can be imposed in sending it. It IS NOT a poison - to be so classified, it must be over 75mg/ml. It does not fall into any other restricted category as far as I am aware. As has been said, and suggested before: Post Office employees now HAVE to ask what is in the parcel. To which you reply, "Nothing which is on the prohibited or restricted list." Job done But its always better to tell them its a broken sex toy being returned for refund No, it doesn't contain batteries, you plug it into the mains

Just Royal Mail chucking the responsibility onto the Post Offices. Post Office has to check and spend time going through the regulations and probably will be financially responsible if anything goes wrong. Costs the person who owns the Post Office for extra work but Royal Mail don't pay for that. Government happy if custommers don't like it - they want to close as many Post Offices as they can. They already pay the Post Office less to handle forms (eg car tax disc renweal) than they pay government computerised centres.

I usually tell the truth, and say "plastic and metal parts for e-cigarettes - no batteries". Last time when asked, I just pulled out my evic and said "one of these" - the lady took some convincing that it was an e-cig, asked me the usual questions about how they work but accepted it without problems. When I send juice I tend to wrap the bottles together in cling film and kitchen roll, so they just feel like a bumpy square package anyway. To be fair, the restrictions are in place to protect the staff - last thing they need is a battery going thermal while in a sack, or exploding in the postie's bag, so as inconvenient as the rules are they are there for the right reason. I'd like to say I've therefore never posted a battery without declaring it, but I'd be fibbing
