I thought I’d post this for anyone thinking of buying a MVP, I’ve had mine since mid sept last year and very pleased with it. When new the life of the battery was 48 hours (moderate to heavy vapor 5ml day), its used 24/7. Now the life is down to just about 24 hours and as I have had plenty of experience with batteries I expect that now to drop off quicker, so this one has had a 5-6 month lifespan.
This is not a criticism of the unit, it’ll get replaced with another if nothing better comes out, but worth remembering that they have to be treated as disposable, although when it’s replaced it will still serve as a good pass-through, thus saving a bit more life in its replacement.
Hope this is of help to someone.

This is a problem with building in batteries. Like in Apple's computing devices.

I'd expect it to last for 18 months to 2 years as a primary vaping device.

You mean you'd want it to? My experience with laptops is that (Li-ion) battery performance is noticably poorer after 6 months and predictably dodgy after 12 months.

mart166 Yep you are about right. I bought my MVP2 in October 2013, it has been my Primary, and only Device til about 4 weeks ago, when I decided to purchase another device, a VTR, as Back up. Yes, my MVP2 is a Genuine Innokin product, I am a Heavy Vaper, 10ml++ a day. I noticed a drop off in performance of my MVP after about a month, and the performance has continued to decline. A Full charge only lasted a round 10 hours for the last week or so, and last night my MVP shorted/fizzed, and failed. I knew the Battery life was not infinite, and expected a drop off in performance, to last for 10 hours of Vaping on a single Battery charge is fine, BUT I am surprised at how quickly any Batteries deteriorate. I purchased 4 Efest Batteries 2000mAh, from a Reputable Vendor, with my VTR. I have had my VTR for around 4 weeks, and have cycled my Efest Batteries carefully. I have charged them in pairs and have, to date, put them through 20 cycles of Charge/Discharge in my VTR. The drop off in performace of these is noticeable too, they are lasting between1 and 2 hours, when used exclusively. I shall buy another MVP2,as I think they are great, but the Battery drop of is a concern. If they last 6 months, at a current price of £36+Delivery, it's still cheaper than Smoking, and DEFINATELY better for my health, but still quite pricey!

Agree with all you have said, but just worked it out, if it lasts another month its cost me £0.23 a day, or half a ciggie lol, and its still a passthrough. But your info on yours dieing has made me paranoid, off on a trip for few days next week, so the trusty vamo backup going to get slung in, my last mod died 1 day before a holiday thats how I ended up with the MVP. mart166 I think my MVP dying was coincedental, I had been having to "Lift" the firing pin occasionally and think something may have shorted! I will be taking it apart and Fixing/Killing it totally on Sunday

The battery in a MVP is a Li-Po not a Li-ion I believe?

Is it? That would be interesting in itself.
I wrecked by 510 connector altogether, so I have to pull it apart at some point (right now it's my mobile phone's back-up battery on long walks)

Is it? That would be interesting in itself. I think so, but not 100% sure that's why I put the ? on my statement. Have a look at it in the breakdown here : allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/16289/itaste-mvp-charging-problem-repair

Hi barrynorton, my MVP has died so I'll be butchering it and trying (I hope) to repair it at the weekend. Might do pics (might cry though!)
