Vaping with a cold

I have a cold

I can barely taste anything, so I'm trying to stay away from my favourite custardy juices. However, it got me thinking about what juices are good when you are feeling sniffelly, and I thought I'd ask for your thoughts.

I have red astaire on the go at the moment, I'm not getting much berry but the anise is still there. I'm going to try snake oil and some joosejuice peppermint as well. Maybe gingerbread? I don't think any others will cut through the snot.

Any other suggestions, what have you tried, what works, what doesn't...

Great melon Balls of Fire - from GenXvapor is a good tube clearer. (there is a UK distributor)

Never used to go more than a few weeks without at least the sniffles.

i'm sniffling too. on horehound mix, think its liquorice i mixed it with. keeping my airways clear so far. i actually made this back in the day for the very reason to vape with a cough/cold

menthol - when I smoked if i got a real bad cold I had the odd few menthol ones as normal ones tasted foul. I've just finished LT Ecigs B-Fresh (blackcurrant menthol) and it's great - like vaping a Locket, Hall's Soother or Tunes, the menthol really helps the snot

Menthol (not peppermint or spearmint), eucalyptus, honey or other very sweet liquids, chilli, tangy/sour flavours (the citrus in Tmax snake oil is very subtle) salty licorice - you wont taste much licorice but you'll taste the salt. Forget about vanilla, aniseed and most other flavours - they're detected in the nose rather than on the tongue.

I mix my own, normally almost 100% PG, but a have a version for when I have a cold which is mostly VG and has some Decadent Vapours Mentholyptus in it. I think it helps a little, it replaces some of the throat hit that the VG takes away, and at least I can taste something.

When I had a cold earlier this month I mixed some Dekang Cherry with some Joose Juice Menthol. About one third menthol and two thirds cherry.
It was a bit like Cherry Tunes but stronger, and it certainly worked for me, cleared my head nicely.

When I have a cold and my taste buds are shot- Griz,s arctic honey from vapeescape does the trick every time

I hadn't thought about this - only the tongue flavours will work, of course. That means I'm stuck with uber sweet pineapple and cola from my selection, unless I start shopping...

5g tub of menthol crystals (£1:30-ish), half- fill a 10 ml bottle with them, top up with PG and shake 'till dissolved. This gives a menthol concentrate, depending on your taste use something like 8% for just menthol juice, or 10% flavouring of which 4% menthol/6% blackcurrant gives a nice vape

Im also dosed up with the cold but only have three flavours at the minute so i am swapping between red cola and apple. Hopefully its gone for when my new eliquids get here
