Cant put my finger on it just a combination of a little cough that i felt i had for too long ,the bad smell, wife nagging, kids nagging. I chanced upon a lookalike e-cigarette thought what the hell give it a try just for in the car/house, never looked back and never had another fag after day two.

anything else along these lines you think i may find suitable? A few of the Flavourart ones are pretty smooth Nicky, including Royal, Mellow Sunset and USA Mix. Also, the ones I sent you were Medium strength so you could try reducing the 7 Leaves a bit with some glycerine and if that's any better, then go for a lower strength. may give those a go at some point, am quite liking the 7 leaves though

Health, money and my old man had cancer (now fully recovered)
It was a bit of a fluke actually I've told the story elsewhere on the forum but going back about 20 months I was on a stag doo in Blackpool and a guy on the sea front was selling £10 el cheapos so one of the guys and myself thought they would be handy for the coach journey home and since then I just threw my whole lifestyle in to finding the ultimate e-cig and preaching to anyone that would listen how beneficial they are to your health. Although I still do have the odd analogue my health has improved along with my bank balance and I've lost count of how many people I've converted.

I quit cold turkey when the smoking ban came into force in Scotland. Figured I need that long to get used to the fact that it was coming down souf a year later. Fell off the wagon for a few weeks at the end of last year and although I didn't enjoy the taste or smell or breathlessness (turns out it was not cig related ) I really really enjoyed the draw, inhale, exhale down the snoz, ooh it was bliss. I got advice from Chrissie and Perpy and have been a happy vaper since. I was able to enjoy vaping once I realised that the mouthpiece had to have filler in it to stop the juice being sucked into my gob.

I was bought an e-cig as an early Christmas present in Dec '09 and liked it so much I've not smoke a regular cigarette since. I was a very heavy smoker for well over 40 years. Fox

I never planned on quitting smoking. I knew about e-cigs a year before I started using them and I thought they were just a gimmick. Cigarettes were getting way too expensive for me and I finally decided to buy an e-cig kit, hoping that it would help me to cut down on cigarettes and save some money. It was a cheap and outdated kit that I started with, but immediately I noticed that the e-cig was a good substitute for cigarettes. I bought a better (KR808D-1) kit and the more I vaped, the less I smoked. I also found that I was developing a dislike for the taste of cigarettes, to the point that when I lit one up I could only tolerate a drag or two, before I had to put it out. Finally, after two months of vaping and smoking, I decided to stop smoking and just vape. Then I graduated from pre-filled cartomizers to the Joye 510 battery, carts and e-liquid. After a year with the 510, I bought an eGo kit and that's where I am right now. One important side effect, is that I joined the ECF and later the All About (thanks to Chrissie ) and got to make friends with a lot of wonderful people, including Nicky, Jason, River and Blakey.

How many more times will I bore members to death with my story? Once at least I was chain-smoking unfiltered rollies and had consciously resigned myself to getting iller and iller until... Then one night I was browsing eBay's Q&A board and I saw a thread with "electronic cigarettes" in the title, and as I read it I got a completely alien feeling of hope, and then I ordered a Mini 901 kit and had my last baccy cig 6 days after receiving it. That was nearly 3 years ago, which reminds me that I've missed Chrissie's 3-year anniversary cos I'm 101 days behind her I've never tried to wean myself off e-cigs (even tho I'd save a ton of money) partly because of Chrissie and all you lovely peeps scylla

I had been a fairly heavy smoker for years and was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer in March of this year.
I asked the Consultant Oncologist and he said that whilst the smoking did not in any way contribute to the illness, that I was causing all sorts of other problems and that ,y biggest risk was of a Heart Attack or Stroke so it was time to stop...!!!
Got one of those silly SKY Cigs and after just 1 day found Cloud 9 Vaping and got a Riva 510 Kit, when it arrived that was my last cigarette...
Been Cig-free since then! Best move ever since vaping is SO damn nice...!!!
Later...

I had been smoking 20/30 cigarettes a day for 37 years and had tried just about every quit method there was....lets see, that was patches, hypnosis, accupuncture, gum, cold turkey, and various tablets. Then one day I saw an advert for e-cigs on Facebook, had never heard of them and googled. I bought my first one from Mirage via Amazon. I knew from the minute I took my first puff that it was going to work for me, and it has, although I have improved on my kit since then.....
