Hi stil kind of new to Vaping. I own an Innokin variable settings. Its the v3 and I use the 30s tank. Im finding the settings arent making a vast difference. It tends to be some draws are quite bland then some have a good kick for the throat. Not sure if its the settings or just normal part of vaping. I tend to find myself rolling the Innoking round and round a few times, in the believe that some of the juices go into the wholes in the coil and provide a better draw, but not really sure. Ive found that Im set at 10w+ and 4.4v, dont know if this means anything to anyone ie. that maybe its too high or something. Would appreciate any advice, or info. I have also noticed the 30s tanks that I buy have a box ticked for 2.1ohms, again dont know what differenc this makes, but there are other boxes on the same package for lower ohms ratings. Im loathe to buy another Ecig, as the Innokin was my 3rd and with all the experimenting to find the right juices Ive spent more in the past month than I spent on the smokes But Ive noticed that there is an Innokin MVP which has a higher maximum wattage (15) and wonder if I might be better off with that one as the v3 needs charging every 2-3 hours. Ive taken to carry 3 batteries and a 30ml bottle with me when ever Im out! Just wondered if anyone can tell me what the wattage, voltage and ohms mean more than anything. Thanks for any help forthcoming

Simple answer is if you use the power setting on your V3 you do not need to worry about the coil resistance, the device will do that for you. The device will adjust the voltage output to the atomiser to give you the same amount of heat (power) automatically no matter what the atomiser resistance. The difference in throat hit and flavour is mostly due to the the juice you are using and the atomiser type. I usually use the 30s with a setting of around 8-9 watts with my juices. The MVP is a great bit of kit and usually lasts me 2 days between charges but like the V3 it will only go up to 11 watts - its the VTR with a 15w max output. But remember the higher the wattage you set the quicker your battery will empty.

I have the innokin itaste vv/vw and only ever use watts. Mine is set low as I use protank mini's on it. With the itaste vv/vw it's only the last setting that it uses whether vv or vw. Vw is so much easier as once you find your own sweet spot no need to change it as it automatically adjusts for the coil used. You do have to roll around the iclear 30s just as you say to get the juice into the coils which are inside the housing so they do have to go through the holes.

Cheers babs, thought it was just my imagination Could I ask what settings you use? I tend to find nothing below 9w is any use and the other setting I seem to have settle at 4.4. Its just when the liquid level gets low I tend to reduce the numbers of both as I think thats when I mostly get the burnt taste coming through. I think the strength of battery affects it all too, even when its still flashing green.

I think the strength of battery affects it all too, even when its still flashing green. It shouldn't do. The whole point of a VW device is that it regulates the power no matter what the state of your battery.

The burnt taste comes from the wicks being too dry not from too many volts - turn the whole thing upside down and swoosh it abound from time to time to make sure the wicks are soaked. You don't need to set watts and volts - when one mode is on the other is turned off its like a digital scale you can read grams or ounces but not both at the same time. For some unexplained reason the iclear30s needs 9-10 watts whereas most other tanks/clearos only need 7 or 8

A 30s is a top coil isn't it? So when the liquid gets low you need to roll it around a bit to get the juice up into the coil, particularly if it has been standing still for a while. Or, top it up.
If you set your v3 to 10 watts it will change the 4.4 volts if you fit a different resistance head in the 30s. Don't worry about it - its the watts that matter.
I vape at about 10 watts, but sometimes 12 or more depending on the juice. I think a max of 11 watts is a bit restrictive. Things like the vamo and the svd also go up to 15 watts.
The throat hit depends heavily on the nicotine % in the juice, but is also a bit higher for high PG juices. High PG juices also don't need so much swirling around when the tank starts to get empty. But you get less vapour.

From another thread: and have settled on the following; 6mg PG30/VG70 That will make it hard to get a strong throat hit with ordinary equipment. It may be worth considering a mod that will turn out 15 watts, and a rebuildable atomiser.

Ive just recieved a freebie of Hansgen Golden Virginia, its a 70PG/30VG and is only 6mg nic. I had though that previous problems with irritation around the mouth - kind of similar to how your mouth can go if you were eating loads of Salt and Vinegar crisps lol- was caused by the high nicotine, but Im now certain it must be the high PG value. For Throat hits Ive been using Menthol flavours, though I found a mild tobacco flavour of 30/70 6mg called Marlbora which is quite pleasant too. I started using an Aspire 1300 twist with the Kanger AeroTank, first time Ive gone a day without leakage since I started 2 months ago. I cant help thinking by the end of this year there will be a better market of quality in Ecigs, at the moment their are some complete bits of junk out there, whether its leakage or dodgy batteries, or p!ss poor instructions on how the equipment should be used. In a sense these companies are playing with lives, as Ive known a few people who tried and gave up on ecigs in just the last couple of months, mainly because of the quality of ecigs, never mind the juices. Im very grateful for all the help Ive recieved on here too, as if it werent for people like yourselfs I would be back on the baccy. Its a warm and friendly community and despite the various vendors and peoples favourite this or that, theres no b1tching thats so common on forums around the web. So thankyou all
