ok guys...will try next time I rewick...just tiny wee bit (not the half a head of hair as mentioned on the you tube videos) and it should slide nicely through the coil without using tweezers? Is that about right? and do you wet it at this point or not? The cotton should fit nice and snug, i do a twist motion with the cotton when pulling through the coil, works everytime, if it does not fit when twisting then i know there is too much cotton and i take some away length wise and try again.

I do wet the wool with a little juice before reassembling the device - this just helps the thorough soaking of the wick before I fire the atomiser for the first time. I also do a couple of sharp draws without firing to encourage the juice down; you should see a bubble rising as the air is replaced with the liquid.

Just received some of these. Cheap as chips and great for holding coils while heating them. Self closing tweezers

I just got success. Had to rewick (after 2 days rather than one) and like bodged the first cotton wool through wire (too thick) - horrid burnt taste....but just tweezed out a tiny thread using fingers from my ball and then rolled it - success... So it's just a question of getting the cotton right ....and I'm sorted and I'm thinking if this coil lasts a wk I'm such a winner as I'm a heavy vaper I also found a good video on getting rid of flooding the other day whereby you take off your drip tip on your davide/protank and shove a piece of loo roll over the hole then give it a good shake - sorts out flooding nicely. will have to find it and post in tips and tricks

Even if you are a heavy vaper Jane, you should find that the coils last at least two or three weeks. I have 2 Protanks with microcoils and neither of them have been rebuilt since the first week in January, and they are used in alternation every day. I rewick once a week, or more often if the vape seems to be fading, and a quick dry burn BEFORE replacing the cotton wool will get them back to prime condition. Neither of the coils is showing any signs of failing, and the only reason I might recoil them this week is because I want to lower the ohms - they are both showing 2.5 and I want to get nearer to 2ohm.

If they was 2ohms to begin with and they have shot up to 2.5 there is no need for a coil change, just clean them and dry burn them, it will bring them back down to 2ohms. It's the gunk on the coils that is making them rise in ohms.

No Super-Shiny, my fault in that I wound them with too many wraps and the ohms were 2.5 from the start. Using them on my Vamo is therefore no problem, but I want them to be nearer the 1.8 - 2ohm range for a mech mod. Out of interest, using a small 2mm jeweller's screwdriver, how many wraps should I aim for with .25 Kanthal?

That would figure, I'm currently winding 10 wraps, and going over 2.3 ohms regularly. I think some new coils are in order!!

Can't believe how well this micro coil is working It's almost a week and I had decorators in yesterday all pm. Spent the pm chugging away on 8mg/ml and no need for a change of anything... Re cotton wool. I have a little strand one side and a whole lump the other (basically) and then I use tweezers to shove it in the well. 2 days later and a heavy vape yesterday and no need to change the cotton wool and as a side issue 2.5 years into vaping and I'm finally finding the taste of stinkies horrid LOL - only took 2.5 years though LOL

Super-ShinyJust got my Aqua clone the other day & hope you could advise on how to coil it so i can use it with twin coils on my Nemesis with a kick installed using cotton as a wick or should i just install standard coils? Fitted 2 micro coils in the Aqua, came out at 0.7 ohms threaded some 2 mm silica wick through the coils to give 4 strands in the channels of the Aqua but due to the low ohms i had to use it on my chi-you without the kick. I was suprised how hot the vape was & not really to my liking, does any one know how to coil one of these to give around 1.8 -2.0 ohms what i am used to vaping?

I rewicked yesterday - I was a zombie (lack of sleep) - twice I did 10 coils - 3.5 ohms resistance - pants...
Eventually got it sorted...cotton wool takes a little knack but perfectly possible....
Go microcoils!!!
