Hi all, I'm looking for another variable wattage mod in what I call the stick style I don't like box mods. I own a zmax v3 which as you know telescopes. I mostly use it in 18650 mode so of course the gap bit shows, you know what I mean. I wouldn't mind something without the gap bit. The zmax in 18650 mode isn't at all ugly and the gap bit actually helps for grip when driving I hold it between my thumb and index finger. The zmax is also nuclear bomb proof. Anyway if I'm thinking no gap I'm thinking vamo.
Now as most of us do, I try and do a few searches on any product I'm thinking of buying and a few times the subject of dodgy threads, potentially being brass and a centre pin that gets pushed in way to easily has popped up. This putting me off a bit if I'm honest.
So vamo owners what are your experiences on the threads, pins and general durability of the vamo. I'm looking at the v5 or possibly the 3 if I decide I like the swirls as they'll help with grip.
Thanks, Jay.

Can't fault the V5 at the minute. Only had it a couple of months so no issues with threads etc. I like it a lot

I've had a V2 for maybe 15 months. The grommet round the centre pin has gone a couple of times. Not difficult to fix, but I wouldn't, for instance, put a spring-loaded atty (like the later Novas) on a vamo.
In the last 3 months or so it has also become a bit fussy about being turned on - can take 2 or 3 tries.
Mine is SS. No problem with the threads.

I have 2 x V2s one in chrome and one SS. The Chrome is the oldest, and apart from the chrome wearing off in a pattern identical to my grip (!) and the 510 threads becoming a bit loose, requiring a £3 airflow controller which has solved that problem, it has given me faultless performance. The SS one had a dodgy switch which raid2506 from this forum very kindly fixed for me, and although the threads have become a bit wonky, it is also a great workhorse and has given good service, bearing in mind it came from Fast Tech and cost under £25. Would I buy another one? Yes, definitely, because it is cheap as chips yet does exactly what you want, and I haven't had any problems with the electronicness of it!! If you can stand the wait, spend that £50 you had set aside and get two from FT with one as a spare. You won't be disappointed

chykensa I haven't got £50 it was just the one I was thinking of from fasttech lol. I thought the forum was flooded with vamo owners but some helpful answers all the same, thank you. I might wait until something pops up in the classies.

I've a V2 and a V5, on my V2 the button to increase power has broke, no click and you've only to look at it and it increases volts/watts, on my V5 the 510 thread has gone and it also has a habit of turning itself off.

I bought a black chrome Vamo v2 not long after release, it looks pretty sad these days and has had a centre pin fix, but it's still going strong (though only at home, poor ugly thing!) Followed up with an ss v2 a few months after that which is still in my regular rotation. In fact till I got a kick for my K100 it was in use every day. I've never had a spot of trouble with it, it's been faultless Got another ss v2 for hubby when he started vaping last May. Now I have to say hubs is quite a juggler (butterfingers ) and that poor Vamo has probably been dropped more times than I can remember, but it's still running absolutely fine, although the 510 connector is getting a bit picky about what it'll accept. To be fair that's probably got more to do with the number of times it's been under the settee/fridge/car (you get my drift!)

There are other delivery options but they were more than I wanted to pay. Took about 2 weeks to get here when I ordered one for a mate of mine.

A few people have reported problems with vaporbreak shipping. It's probably all sorted and fine again but it's best to be aware others have had problems with them.

No probs. still comes in at under £20 with delivery so yeah, not much in it. I'm waiting for my king clone to arrive from there. My buddy got one and it's amazing. The threads are a bit squeaky, but it hits harder than his original king mod that cost him over $200. I can't wait :-)
