Someone recommended Vapeescape to me , so I have visited the site. He told me about a Riva 1100 , but seen the Echo 510 on the site - is Echo better ?
Also , I am a Golden Virginia smoker , so need a similar type taste - is this possible ???

Hello and welcome Rav, your our 3rd newbie tonight I don't know anything about the Echo, im sure someone on here will, but the riva is an excellent e-cig if you don't mind it being a bit bigger than a ciggie, its more a cigar size, and the battery life is really good. Well done on making the change to the wonderful world of vaping

the echo is a superb product which comes with a automatic battery and a 3ml cartomizer which is called the Echomizer it produces great vapour and throat hit and the flavour is very good. It would be on par as a first kit with the riva. Not sure if jason has the 510 version or the automatic battery. the riva 510 is also a great first e cig as its very versitile with its 510 threaded connection which means you can put cartomizers on with out issue there is a very good page on here allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=newmembers&thread=2349&page=1#48500 take a look through and ask as many questions as you can to be sure that you get the right kit for you. welcome to allabout forums

Hi there Rav! I'm another who hasn't got experience of the Echo - I started vaping nearly 3 years ago and simply cannot keep up with all the new models. But do not despair, I'll put money on there being an avalanche of advice tomorrow A word about e-liquid (often called "juice") flavours - you won't find exact tobacco taste-alikes, but don't let this deter you. It may be difficult to believe now, but it shouldn't be long before you don't even like the taste of tobacco, and there is a wealth of flavour out there to enjoy I'm speaking as an ex-Golden Virginia chain-smoker The base liquids of e-liquids are mainly Polyethylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerine (VG) and they both have a sweet undertaste. Don't let me put you off!!! I also wouldn't worry about which model is the very best, or which is better than what - if you start out with a decent-sized battery with a 510 screw-fitting you will have a great choice of atomisers/cartomisers/clearomisers/tanks/etc to vary your vaping experience. Batteries don't last for ever, they gradually lose power and won't charge as well as when new, so a time will come to decide whether to change model or get more of the same. In the meantime... just get started! scylla

Hi Rav and welcome In my opinion, the Echo is a far better starter kit then the Riva, for the simple reason it comes with Echomisers instead of atomisers and cartridges. They hold 2.5ml of e-liquid and can be refilled lots of times before needing replacement. It is more expensive, but does come with 5 Echomisers, so will set a new starter up for quite some time. The only thing needed is e-liquid. Hope that helps.

Hi Rav - stand by to be amazed! When I started I thought I'd need a good tobacco flavour with plenty of nicotine, being, like Scylla, a rollie chain smoker - but with more class as I was a Cutters Choice devotee But it won't be long before your taste buds start working properly and then you might well find yourself wanting to vape flavours you'd have laughed at just days earlier. I'd started off with SkyCigs and liked their Cherry flavour - now it tastes horrible and Im 'gone' on Butterscoth and Caramel flavours - weird and totally unexpected! I'm sure whatever you plump for you'll get sound help and advice from this forum.

Jason, are the Echo batteries the same as with the Riva kit?
Also are the Echomisers basically cartomisers (and if so are they SR or LR?) or something different?

Hi Rog Yes, the Echo batteries are the same as the Riva ones. Echomisers are just like a giant Boge Cartomiser - they hold 2.5ml and have a soft rubber whistle tip, which I like better than the normal drip tips. They are standard resistance 2.8-3ohm, but give better flavour and more of a hit than the Boge SR (partly because of the narrow mouthpiece I would say). Not seen you for a while, how's the vaping going?

Hi Jason, thanks for the explanation - how would you say the flavour/hit compares to the Boge LR cartomisers? Been busy this last while so not been here that much, just popped in occasionally for quick read. The vapings going very well indeed, not touched an analogue since I started which is great. I ordered some cartomisers from you a couple of weeks ago (which as always arrived very quickly and thanks for the free sample of juice) and will shortly be ordering some more juice and probably a spare battery ... still very happy with the 666 to be honest although I occasionally vape some of the other juices when I feel like a change

The flavour I find better, but the hit is more on the Boge LR, as you would probably expect. As a general rule, I find the lower resistance you go with cartomisers, the less flavour you get and the more throat hit (there has to be a compromise somewhere). Glad to hear it's going well - I always wonder, when you don't hear from someone for a while, whether it's worked out for them. But, I think you found the right mark from the off.
