Hey Guys,
I've been starting to mix recently and have been using my 1ml syringe for most of my flavour concentrates as it's the most accurate and my 5-10ml syringes for the nic base and PG/VG.
I've found that my 1ml syringe is now stuck!! It seems like the rubber is very soft and tight on the draw and making it impossible to push up or down...is this a common issue? I've not have this problem on any other of the syringes so I'm guessing it's the flavour concentrates that is causing this?
I'm very careful to wash out the syringe right after use but drawing and pushing out water through it right after I have added the flavour to my mix...
Thanks
J

I've had that problem at times I use syringes to fill my tank too. I've found giving them another good wash in warm water clears it after a couple of flushes. I think the concentrate is a bit like syrup and can harden if not totally clean. I'm still using syringes that are months old and I use them daily

jammy i have the same issue with my syringes & i know they have been washed properly as i rinse them after use & then in my ultrasonic cleaner, what i tend to do now is put a bit of pg in a measuring cup & dip the plunger in it before using it for flavourings or whatever, this enables the plunger to move freely & its only a tiny bit so will not make any difference to quantities of the mixes.

Plastic syringes are not really made for "re-using", and I think the plastic bodies go out of shape very slightly. Plus after a real good wash the rubber is very dry and drags on the tube. I agree with diamic22, and find that when "wet" with a little juice it tends to solve the problem. Bit like lubricating "O" rings for the same reason.

Also before it gets too bad, put some sellotape over the numbers before the fade away

Cheers for the suggestions. It's so bad now I can't withdraw the plunger and instead the plunger rod comes out of the black rubber.
I guess it's only a 30p replacement at the end of the day. But I'll make sure I look after the next one a bit better.

Those look like a great bargain bkkkpewsey I particularly like the larger 20, 30 and 50ml sizes which would be just the job when mixing larger 100ml quantities

I get pieces of dirt stuck in the needle then they won't work. I bought 100 18g needles ages ago....didn't cost a fortune... These things are so cheap off ebay why worry? I now use old 18g needles for micro coils

Makes sense that it's the tank crackers that does this, I think it only happens with the orange and cola flavourings I have from LT ecigs which are really really strong.

This is more a general gripe at e-cig users than anyone specific....but... e-cig stuff (even decent stuff - not including rebuildable stuff) is so cheap compared to cigs why do we have to get it even cheaper.... Eg...if an atomiser head doesn't last someone more than a week or even a few days then people moan? Er why? Cigs cost £7 a pack of 20. If you were even a light smoker (i.e 20 a day) that's £7 you'd spend a day. If you were a heavy smoker you can easy double that. How much is an atomiser head? I tell thee about £2 and you moan when it doesn't last more than a week If you don't want it on free prescription why worry? You can't have your cake and eat it Sorry for hijacking the thread and ranting but still Jane
