I think that the 6 wraps on silica just give you a higher temp which might add to the throat hit. Careful not to wack tge voltage up too high though as you might get a nasty burnt rubber taste. What voltage are you using?

As the subject thread but has anyone got a sure fire way to add fizz to a juice?

Ok I will eat my humble hat. Cotton wicking is awesome...but I do get the odd burnt rubber taste on a few rebuilds. Must be the grommets. So I'm putting them aside until I can find replacements.

The vaping through method is working, but still getting a slight taste of burnt rubber from the grommet. Plus I'm caning about half tank of juice just to do this.
Even recoiling with new wick it's still there. Grrr wish I could just get some replacements or some silicon grommets instead of the rubber

I've got so much silica to use up before I try the mirco coils, and like a said on a previous thread - I'm bit of a skin flint to let it sit there hehe. I adjusted the volts down t0 3.6-3.8 for the 5 wrap coils when it happened. But you're right, I've been vaping through (taking a draw and blowing it out without taking it down) and the rubber taste is going! Strange.... I'll have a look around for the rubber grommets.

I get pieces of dirt stuck in the needle then they won't work. I bought 100 18g needles ages ago....didn't cost a fortune... These things are so cheap off ebay why worry? I now use old 18g needles for micro coils Becuase I'm a skin flint , yeah I get your point. It's more out of curiosity really than any thing else. Makes sense that it's the tank crackers that does this, I think it only happens with the orange and cola flavourings I have from LT ecigs which are really really strong.

Hey guys, I've recently rebuild my coils and for some reason this round has resulted in very bad rubber tastes smells when I fire them up. I've already rebuilt them once using 32ga Kanthal, on 2mm silica, 6 wraps and it was fine, not bad taste, and vaped like a champ. This time, everything the same, just 5 wraps instead of 6, and near enough all of them taste of rubber! I've since learned that once the rubber grommet bung has burnt then it's going to taste like that forever? Is there anywhere that I can get replacements from? thanks Edit: You can actually get some replacement grommets here which are silicone instead of rubber! r.ebay.com/Y3kajS

Cheers for the suggestions. It's so bad now I can't withdraw the plunger and instead the plunger rod comes out of the black rubber.
I guess it's only a 30p replacement at the end of the day. But I'll make sure I look after the next one a bit better.

Hey Guys,
I've been starting to mix recently and have been using my 1ml syringe for most of my flavour concentrates as it's the most accurate and my 5-10ml syringes for the nic base and PG/VG.
I've found that my 1ml syringe is now stuck!! It seems like the rubber is very soft and tight on the draw and making it impossible to push up or down...is this a common issue? I've not have this problem on any other of the syringes so I'm guessing it's the flavour concentrates that is causing this?
I'm very careful to wash out the syringe right after use but drawing and pushing out water through it right after I have added the flavour to my mix...
Thanks
J

Ooops, please bare with me. I've just updated with a location I was the odd one out in my group who smoked so I don't have anyone to pass the baton onto. I did think it was a long shot and was intending it to be a good will thing rather than making a quick buck. If someone has a friend who would make use of it then I'm happy to pass it on if they want to cover the postage or swap it for some liquid they don't like?

Hi All.
Since joining the more advanced world with my evod and ego twist setup. I have an elites kit with 1 battery, carry/charging case, and about 5 unused cartridges up for grabs. Like many others I got sacked in when I first tried to 'cut down' last year before doing it properly with the right tools!
I've hardly used it so has plenty of life left in it.
Open to offers/swap to anyone who may want this.
Jamie
