As I have said previously, I am totally hooked and enjoying my Russian / Kayfun tank. I have hardly used anything else since I got it. Mr Dolly does my wicking and coiling using cotton wool. It's a great vape. One thing is bugging me though. When I take my first draw on the new wick, or, when I have put my device down for a while, I get quite a loud pop sound. It doesn't bother me at all, in fact I quite like it! I am just wondering why that happens. Any ideas?

I also get it when vaping with certain juices on a new coil. Over Xmas I had a coil that was like vaping popping candy, it was so loud it was exploding up the tube! I'm not sure of the physics behind it but I think it's a sign of a good coil and that everything is working well, so certainly nothing to worry about.

I have had juice popping right up into my mouth occasionally. Not so keen on that bit! His nibs will be pleased to know its a sign of a good coil. He seems to enjoy doing it now. Only a few weeks ago, the air was blue in our lounge with his angry and frustrated language!

I get the snap crackle and pop quite a bit on my evods and protank mini's. I find it quite reassuring as it sounds like I'm getting plenty of heat from my coils. Some juices do it louder and livelier than others, Vanilla sounds like I'm popping corn in my clearo's

I'm no expert here, but I suspect it is the fresh clean wire making extremely good contact with the juice and vaporising it so quickly that it literally explodes into the tube. As the coil begins to get gunked up with carbonised juice it dies down and ceases to pop and crackle. A good dry burn will get it crackling again though! I don't panic about the sound, and although it's a bit disconcerting at first, it does seem to produce a good cloud of vapour!

I get silence, tonnes of vape, but a ghostly silence. The Russian is spooky.

I don't mind the popping, but this thread made me think about the whistle I get with one of my kayfuns (the other is fine now - It didn't whistle but had a filling problem, now solved thanks to a helpful tip from smarties). So I did some research, found this thread but it didn't help. I tried putting a bit of wire in the air hole (it is still there) and bevelled the opening, but it still whistles. Any ideas anyone?
