the following was posted to me on facebook i've included my response but that was a knee jerk reaction
Debbie***** shared Keith ***** status. 15 hours ago Sarah ****** About 6 weeks ago I started "vapping" smoking an e cigarette that uses fluid with pure nicotine in it, yesterday evening my dogs, one a 14 week old puppy were playing in the dining room then all went quiet, either means sleep or up to no good, I went to see what was happening and to my horror, pup had somehow got hold of a bottle of e liquid and had managed to pierce the bottle, the resulting smear of nicotine on her tooth claimed her life this morning after being at the vets all night, the e fluid is lethal be warned, there appears to be no cure, and the lids are not child proof lids, please please share this as nicotine is a lethal poison and people should be warned Like · · Share
Sarah ****** 'somehow got hold of bottle' ... killed a kid too a while back. its a chemical poison. put it somewhere safe and out the way.

Hi @spikeyfridge as you can see, have merged your post with the thread already started about this. A careless human costs another life & the press locks on for their own ends.

thanks for moving this! its insane. what bugs me is it was forwarded from someone who doesnt smoke but is against vaping with a passion with no knowledge. someone you cant even begin to explain to
millions of people have and have been proven to die from smoking cigarettes but it didnt stop me or others smoking.

That's what bugs me. The dog 'somehow' god hold of a bottle. Did it magic itself into the pups mouth? Or did the owner idiotically leave it somewhere the pup could get it? Hmmm.
It's sad beyond belief that this poor little pup lost its life due to yet another owners stupidity. People really should have to pass a test before having pets.

A friends puppy chewed on a handbag sized bottle of 70% alcohol hand gel. It was very young and sadly died of alcohol poisoning. No one blamed the Hand gel, despite the fact it was strawberry scented and bright red and possibly very inviting to a small child. Same principle applies surely, don't leave potentially harmful substances where kids and pets can reach them. As far as I know the hand gel incident didn't make the papers!

I left my samurai sword out, on the counter, and my dog got hold of it, it sadly claimed his life. It's the swords fault! IT SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER.
Samurai swords do not have a child proof cap, for those who are wondering.

Would it be all over facebook if the dog was poisoned by something else ? . . .I don't think so !
Seems to me its the owner trying to "Get out of it "
Jeez these things really annoy me.......

zeldamum - no, the stall in Redruth sells genuine Hangsen juice, and as the vast majority of them are 16mg strength the caps are bright orange. Don't recognise that brand of juice; can't recall having come across it before.

my dog ate my coffee concentrate way back when and has been bouncing off the walls since! I stupidly left it on the side whilst getting something from another room. did I blame something else? it's not rocket science to keep stuff out of reach but a momentary lapse of concentration happens

Oh dear...the post about the puppy inevitably popped up on my facebook page and I blasted the unfortunate poster with both barrels, her response was ' i only copied and pasted because I've got 5 yorkshire terriers and that stuff is dangerous'. When I asked if she kept her cigarettes out of reach of her dogs as they're just as dangerous if ingested, I suddenly found myself 'unfriended'...what a shame...

I find it astounding how many adults there are with little emotional intelligence. This one clearly has issues in dealing with anyone disagreeing with what they say and challenging it.... I think you are lucky to be unfriended lol
