i need to clean out my tank and coil if i use abit of washing up liquid will it kill my stuff or will it be ok?


and steve i treated my selfto an inokin iclead 16d yes bottem coil again but not s bad as the aspire when you got spare cash would try one

I've never used washing up liquid teethcv cos I didn't fancy the taste of it left in the tank and coil, I use cheap steradent and soak them overnight or stick them in the ultrasonic cleaner with half a steradent, that sorts them out and the only aftertaste is a bit of mint.

You could soak it in vodka if you didn't want to use steradent.

It should do if you leave it to soak overnight. What flavour did you have in it ? Coffee and menthol flavours are very difficult to get rid of.

There are a few reasons folks recoil themselves, & I reckon the ever lingering presence of menthol / cherry/ banana or aniseed with push you to it . . . & in the face of these flavours denture tabs are a puny defense.

Sorry, denture tabs & ultrasonic are the best of the cleaners but IMO the 4 above are the worst to get rid of, takes a lot more then 1 cycle to shift them but everything else your good . . . . except perhaps pineapple, coconut & maybe ginger, & what else . . . . . oh yeah washing up liquid     don't do it

If you're not changing flavours (much) hot water is fine by itself.

i doe it in vodka over night did the trip allso but a drop of 97% pure alcohol did the trick can not smell nothing now lol

Had delivery of me first kayfun last weekend and it had a strong smell of swarf/grease in it.
So i soaked it overnight with a denture tablet. Job done, smell gone.
Do remember as a kid? if we swore? we had washing up liquid in our mouths,
Pick up a tube of denture tablets, cheap as chips.

yea i have looked online seen them in boots for just over a pound will pick some up when i go down town next

Definitely a no no to washing up liquid. As others have said, we use Steradent tablets. Also, now I have several different types of tank, I try to stick to the same kind of flavours for each tank. I have caramel latte constantly in my Titanide tank. Apple and raspberry in my Russian. Mint choc chip in my aerotank, and so on. I also have a couple of protanks lying around to test out new flavours with. It stops them being tainted by too many types of flavour.

Any denture tablet will do teethcv the supermarkets all do their own brand cheaply

I wash all other parts of the tank with washing-up liquid but the coils get a soak in hot water and denture tab. If you like strong or dark juices then it might take a day or two of soaking to get the wicks clean again, but it does work.

I'm currently using Superdrug own-brand Essentials denture tabs (white tube with 3 pink stars on it). They are very cheap and the best ones I've tried.
