Who knew how complicated this would be. It all used to be so simple; half an ounce of baccy, a pack of rizlas and maybe a box of matches and I was done.

Now I've got to consider voltage, ohms, wattage, style of drip tip, bottom, top, dual or single coil, variable voltage or regulated wattage, ego or 501, pipe, carto or clearo, and then I've got to pick a flavour from the myriad available and then decide on PG/VG mix, not forgetting the nicotine strength. And now I've found out that I have to steep (or homogenize) the juice before I can use it.

My head's spinning faster than the bottom of my battery and I've probably spent more in the last couple of months than I would have if I'd been chain smoking 24/7 but there's no way I'm going back to the roll ups.

Chalk up another convert to the fold.

aw, its not quite so fiddly, basically you get set up and THEN you meddle and play with new gear.

At first I was just grateful with a basic ego kit and tank and finding e liquids to keep my off the fags. Its only now I'm settled into it I buy all sorts of 'odds and sods' and mess about and spend obscene amounts of money, for pleasure

Thanks for the welcomes. My only regret so far is not finding this forum before I started shelling out my hard-earned. Not that I've made many mistakes, just haven't quite hit the sweet spot yet. I suspect I'll have some fun and learning to do before I get there.

Do like your post, and does just show? how bonkers this vapeing lark is.
But we love it, and some of us do throw alot of money at it,
i went through a stage where i had to have the latest clearo, carto,
bottom coil, top coil tank that came out, why? not that i wanted it but i just
Had to have it, cos i diden't have it (if that makes scence)
And some of us are still looking for that perfect vape, if it's out their?
i just have about 3-4 flavours on the go depending on my mood.
Trying to find that perfect juice? is what takes alot of your money?
Thats why i make my own, and so do alot of us on here.

A lot of us are still looking for the sweet spot, but what a fun journey it is!  I knew vaping was going to be a safe(er) way of getting my nicotine fix, but I really didn't expect it to turn into a hobby and I'm glad it did.
