Wasn't sure where to pop this but I figured here is probably the best place.
Despite what anyone does, I think we all know there are going to be major changes to vaping laws. Hopefully due to petitions etc, something will go in our favour, but looking on the bleak side. If we end up with it been that the only things available to purchase legally are cig a likes, how can we carry on with vaping as we know it?
We can stock up on juice, or with ingredients to make our own juice. We can stock up on clearomisers of our preferred type. However what can we do regarding a battery?
I know some people are talented enough to make a device , but that is not the case for thousands of us. I would imagine that the most popular type of battery is something from 900mah upwards that plugs in and charges - i.e an ego, twist, spinner, mvp. These have a limited lifespan though, so how can we carry on vaping using a battery of 900mah or above, once our devices reach the end of their lifespan? It doesn't matter how much juice you have or what fantastic clearo you own if all you can attach it to is a crappy cig a like battery, and I wouldn't mind betting they will change the fitting on new approved ones just to make sure .

Get yourself a mod sammy13 either regulated (vamo, svd etc) or mechanical (Nemesis etc) which uses 18*** batteries - they can't ban batteries that can be used for other legitimate purposes (flashlight for example).

sammy13 you can always get a basic Mech mod. They use a sperate commonly available battery ( 18350, 185000, 18650. all used in other electronics.) They are charged externally to the mod, on a seperate charger. Edit...bugger to slow in typing Xposts.

I wondered if that was a possible route, but I wasn't sure if those devices have other parts which cause a short lifespan. @johanino has her name for a reason I was thinking of getting an mvp, but maybe a vtr would be a better option ?

I have been thinking along the same lines too and started stocking up. I have a few bottles of nic base in the freezer, I have a few vamos and a couple of ego twists and a mech mod. I know if i cant vape i would likely go back to stinkies and its looking like no matter what we say a ban of some kind is going to come eventually. So every month im buying something and putting it away so i will be sorted if a ban does come in

It will be VERY HARD to ban devices. What will happen is the control of Nicotine in Juice 20mg only in 10ml bottles will be the strongest liquid that you can buy and it'll probably be taxed to the hilt. What is unclear at this time is bought pre-flavoured juice. However you'll likely be able to buy zero flavoured juice and add your own flavourings one gain it would be very hard to ban this. It's the UK based vendors who will be hit the hardest, full size protanks/Aeroanks/carto Tanks will probably not be allowed to be sold in the UK.

I think vamos can last upto a year. Provaris substantially longer. I have no idea about others. I've had my silver bullet for 18 months with on/off usage. Still going strong... Just basically stock up on mods and clearos (ones you can rebuild) and juice. Shouldn't be a prob Or do like others have on my blog and come off nicotine altogether. You have 2 years. We knew this ages ago. Why worry?

Prohibition has never stopped people doing what they want. Everything will still be available, buying it will just change a bit.

Its still unclear if zero nic products will be affected by anything in the TPD, if its not then that's what devices will be sold for - what juices you add are up to you. its also unclear on the details for liquids, small bottles and 20mg but flavourings and labelling are both still an omnishambles. the door is still open for med regs too, the MHRA will be chomping at the bit to go that way. the battlefield is now in westminser, pester your MP.

I'm not too concerned about the juice side of it - well not immediately, no doubt once they get one thing going their way they will then impose more rules and more rules etc until we are all buying cig a likes from a chemist at a ridiculously high price.
I haven't stocked up on anything yet - nicotine and I am not even sure if I want to, has anyone used nicotine that has been in a freezer for a while?? That could answer my question. I would be distraught if I bought say a litre popped it in the freezer and in two years found it was wrong in some way.
I have read that it can be done, but I would feel easier if someone on here said I've done it, it works.
Premade I could buy with a shelf life of 2 years, concentrates will always be available as cupcake world etc will always sell cake flavourings.
Clearomisers are pretty long lasting unless you drop a glass one or use a tank cracking juice so don't need too many of those.
I would need the heads and that is going to be bloody expensive.
I guess those reasons are why I am so worried about batteries, because I could buy 10 protanks, 1,000 heads 2 litres of nicotine , make it all last as long as possible then have no battery.

I will pester anyone who will listen if it will make a difference. Do you mean my local mp? not mep? I'm not into politics sorry, so not sure. I doubt my local mp even knows what vaping is, probably some stuck up good for nothing, I could be wrong though.

I knew it was happening and didn't let it worry me because it is out of my hands, New year now though, and hopefully I will be around for quite some time, so I need vaping gear that can be around some time also. I personally don't want to cut my nicotine levels, I know that is the aim of some but not me. I also don't want to ever stop vaping, nicotine or no nicotine, it's the act of vaping, and the flavour, and if I am going to want to continue doing this for the next 40 years - god I will be super dooper old then lol, then I need batteries.

I would not panic yet sammy13 - we have our modmakers here in the forum - but joke aside - I can't see them regulating 0% e liquids - they also can't really regulate the sale of batteries, mods and atties - it will take them ages to do that - those people work for the governments and have plenty of time - in the mean while there will be many many vapers - and many who are legally trained, who will be able to legally protect vaping
