First question Have you tried capella vanilla custard? Or T-Juice colonel custard? Just asking as this may determine what you like. I have not had FA but I have tried many pre made and there is a vast difference. Second question - have you had a pre-made that you like?

im not so struck on colonel custard. i feel its lacking something and is a bit bland. got a half bottle in the cupboard. might try adding some banana to it when i have some concentrate in.

geordie_vaper, I would highly recommend getting the exact makes for the first vanilla custard recipe on this page but also get some vanillin and drop the sweetener to 1% and add 1% vanillin as well- its the Super-Shiny and Perpetua vanilla custard love child and it knocks the socks off and of the VC premixed I have tried (and I've tried a few!)

only custard i have tried was cefsvapor ABC, but i want a strong creamy vanillary if thats a word haha to be mixd so not a stand alone flavour See this is what I was hoping for something to compare. Chefs ABC IS a very vanillary, creamy custard compared to most premades, so if it wasn't creamy or vanillary enough for you, the capella vanilla custard is the answer. I am trying to replicate grants, and I add no sweetner, but we all taste different things. I am using capella vc, and capella French vanilla. At 24% and 6% it was too creamy for me, but quite vapable infact I am using it now, but in my search for perfection I am now steeping 26%vc, 4%fv., That may too be not quite right, but I will get there, and the ones I am making are very nice - just not quite grants.

Different bananas taste different, and you need the custard right first. I haven't managed a nice banana custard yet. My next step is get the custard spot on then add banana, rather than trying the initial mix of both.

There's only 2 VC concentrates I'd recommend from the ones I've tried . . . Capella or TPA's. F'arts doesn't contain Acetoin and Acetyl Propionyl, so you don't get the same degree of creaminess/depth with it. For a Banana Custard, I'd try my original PVC recipe - then add Banana to suit your tastes:
