It gave me a little bit of renewed 'I will do this', reading all the replies, thankyou to all. I intend to follow the link someone has given because maybe I don't have the right kit to keep me satisfied. Actually a funny thing happened to me today when I took the battery back to the market where the laddie is an absolute star and wiling to help as much as he can. My screw on top thingie is green. The battery I returned is yellow. When the laddie (forgotten his name) gave me a new yellow battery, I picked up the green thingie, screwed it on and went back to the car. On my way home I picked up my new battery and green thingie for a puff and wow! it was menthol!!! Now I have never ever bought menthol. So where in the name of fortune did that come from????? Then I looked down into the pocket where I picked up my magic stick for a puff and there was another green thingie. OMG............... I must have picked up the laddie's green thingie he tested the new battery with. I stole a green thingie!!!! I know he has a mobile number because it was on a board, but I didn't take a note of it. Conclusion, one I am a thief, and two whatever strength that menthol is, I want it!!!! I don't think I will come to the meet, I don't know anybody, not that I am shy, but I will see and listen to what everybody tells me, go to shop and spend way too much money on things I probably don't need in the quest to keep on with this rather than back to the rollies, which I know is the wrong thing to do (but tempting none the less). Thanks for the congrats. I believe I deserve it, 8/9 weeks without a roly is an olympian feat for me. Back to this lovely menthol which is probably as strong as it gets, I have no idea, except it is great. BTW. I went down to 8mg from 18mg, do you think that was too much too quick. Oh yes, yipee, don't need to do all that cleaning, now that's great knowledge to have, thanks.

Ooh err mrs you little robber you I just wondered if it was probably your wall charger that is at fault, have you tried to charge your new battery in it yet, if it is faulty you will need to buy another one. Do you know the name of the battery you bought and the clearomiser, if not, just ask the man you bought them from, it helps us to help you if we know what we are dealing with. Don't go back to rollies, i think you will regret it if you do...perseverance is needed here. And don't worry about you read in the papers or hear on the news, by 2016 you will making your own liquids, recoiling your own tanks and will know every on line vendor and the discounts you get, you will be soo experienced you will be helping newbies on here.

Would you please tell Ian I am very sorry for wot I stole . The upside is, whatever was in it was so good, I'll have to go back for more. I don't think the wall charger is faulty because the two old batteries do go 'green' even though the new charge only lasts a few puffs, so I assumed it was the batteries. I have had them since end of Dec. after all, from Vaportorium. They were their own make, as were the screw on tops which seem to be o.k. There wasn't hardly a puff of vapour, so I must have needed a new battery. Can you charge them overnight, or would that be too long or dangerous in some way. I can bake a mean apple tart and make bread, but I think I would draw the line at making my own liquid. Why have a dog and bark yourself? As for helping newbies, don't think I'll live long enough to know enough for that. Got to love your sense of humour!!!!

It's great when you find an e-liquid you like menthol was the first one I found that I could happily vape all day (found lots more now though ) Stick with it crazyquilter and try not to get discouraged by those little set backs that we all have early on

crazyquilter did you check the link to the video I posted above re raising the centre pins on your batteries? I will certainly pass on your apologies to Ian if you are sure you can't come along? I'm sure he'll find it funny too and won't mind one little bit in helping you find a juice that you like

Did you reallyClivia???? Not that I am going to do it, because I don't know what pg is or what the other thing that goes with it is either? BUT being curious, where do you buy the ingredients and how do you know what to put with what, or is their a recipe sheet or instructions. Are there special ways to mix it. How do you keep it and finally why do you want to mix it yourself? After answering, your time's your own

How do you keep it and finally why do you want to mix it yourself? After answering, your time's your own There are a TON of recipes and instructions. Just pop down to the mixology section of this forum for hundreds of delicious examples. My reasons for doing it are firstly it's cheaper than buying pre mixed, secondly I can mix it to any strength I want and lastly with the right flavour concentrates it's possible to make anything you can imagine. For example I really like strawberry and chocolate cheesecake so I bought flavour concentrates and made strawberry choc cheesecake e liquid. Or you could make your own tobacco mixes, or basically any flavour you can imagine. Since you are now a menthol fan you could make it yourself very easily and to your own individual taste. All the ingredients can be bought easily online and there are mixing calculators to help with measurements. Just throw the ingredients in a bottle, shake well and leave to steep for a while.

NAH, that sounds too simple. All experts make things sound simple. Then when you try yourself you find out it isn't! For instance to me, steep means putting something in water and leave for a while. I'm sure in this instance it means something else. I do like the sound of cheaper though. Being scottish, cheaper is a magic word. Thanks for your input, I will take a look just to see what you are meaning. I need to know basics though. What is pg and the other thing. I understand flavours naturally, who doesn't, but I'm sure there's more to it, ie where do you get your supplies and is there a big outlay at the outset. Ach I don't suppose it matters, I won't be doing it, just curiosity, which killed the cat.

Lol now have 2 clearo's. A word of warning menthol is very hard to get the flavour out of a clearo so keep that one just for menthols www.joosejuice.co.uk/shop/catalog/details?shop_param= This is an very good vendor that only charges £1.49 for 10ml tasters his menthol is strong though and some people mix it with a bit of soft mint or spearmint. No need to worry about doing that just put some menthol in your clearo then top up with soft mint spearmint or fruit anything really. If you use that site go into details and choose your strength and vg/pg mix I would suggest no less than 12mg and 60/40 pg/vg. I do think you went down too far to quickly on your nic I still use 18mg which is what I started with. When you are ready to mix your own juice there is a very good mixology section on here which you could have a read of but don't worry too much about it at the moment. I'm glad you're feeling more positive today what a difference a day makes eh?

polypropylene glycol is the pg most of us get it from ebay vg is vegetable glycerine cheapest is boots chemist then the nicotine from any good vendor here but ask in mixology for cheapest at the time. Save your empty juice bottles and reuse them the flavours are from all over the place depending what you want. You need syringes and blunt needles ebay again and latex gloves that's it really and very very simple to do. I whipped up 4 flavours last night in less than half a hour which will last me for the next month

Ach I don't suppose it matters, I won't be doing it, just curiosity, which killed the cat. Yep really is that simple. Steep just means throw the bottle in a drawer or cupboard and leave it for a while shaking it occasionally. I'm no expert at this at all, it's really easy or I wouldn't be doing it. PG is propylene glycol which is one of the main ingredients. As well as being used in e cigs it is used in cosmetics and the PHarmacutical industry. It's used in asthma inhalers for example. It's available at a lot of e liquid sites or is cheaper on ebay. VG is vegetable glycerine. It's also used in the PHarmacutical industry and is also used by bakers to add moisture to cakes. The nicotine comes from your base liquid which is nicotine diluted in either PG or VG. Then all you do is mix it using a mixing calculator to get the right strength and whatever pg/vg ratio you want and add flavouring. and it's MUCH cheaper. Works out about £1.50 for 10ml.

Nic base about £12 for 100ml from vapers emporium VG £1.20 for 200 ml from Boots PG about £3 for 100ml from ebay or a vaping site That will make 400ml of unflavoured liquid for under £20
Add another £20 for flavourings and you have 400 ml liquid in the flavour of your choice for 40 odd quid
