I've had it for 13 months but the fire button seems to be giving up now. More and more I'm noticing that I really need to press it really hard to get a decent draw. Is this common? Can it be repaired or do I need to let it go...

TBH they're not worth repairing as they are so cheap to buy new. Just think if you were buying 20 stinkies a day!

FT around £20 + pennies for the stainless V5, from experience I'd order before it packs in and if you can treat it like a kitten until the new one gets here you might just manage.

i repair vamos but as the members have said is it worth having it fixed it costs £3 to send it to me and £3 to return it it could cost £4 for a new switch what i would solder in so it costs £10 to repair or £20 pound to replace and if the fire button is wearing out you can guarantee the 2 little buttons are on there last legs as well its only really any use for spare parts really

I've noticed the "-" button on mine has lost its click. It still works but its days are numbered. Inherited from a failed vaper back in July, so no real loss and have plenty of back ups. I am kind of looking forward to it finally giving up as I haven't looked at a Vamo board close up. Does anyone know if the buttons are easy to replace/relocate? I imagine they are just mini-push button switches, which I've already got. Cheers.

Got to treat these things as throwaway, my mvp down from 48 to 24 hours on charge, and the button getting bit finiky, ditto year old vamo, the MVP will survive as passthrough until button gives up, Vamo like phil said be an explore of its workings. Just work out how many days you used them and divide by cost, comes to 1 ciggy a day if your unlucky.

The buttons on a Vamo V2 are simply lumps of metal which rest against the buttons on the board itself (I'd expect later versions to be similar).
Even if the buttons on the board pack up, I would think that remote switches could be wired in, and the board could still used in a mod project - but I haven't examined the Vamo board closely yet, despite having it disassembled several times now.
I recently gave my V2 a head transplant, replacing the worn out top cap with a V5. It was quite a struggle to get the V5 top cap into place, and getting it off again may be more difficult still, so I hope my amateurish soldering holds for a while.

Yeah I'm just gonna get a v5 from FT. Like the look of the raised 510 connector - hopefully some tanks will fit this version easier than they do my current vamo... It's had a good innings and has been a constant companion of mine everyday for the past 13 months, never go anywhere without it. I did purchase a MVP2 to ease the burden on it but found that it wasn't quite as good and rarely use it. It's going to be getting hammered now until my replacement vamo arrives...

the plus and minus buttons use 4 leg tactile switches 4.5mm X 4.5mm X 5mm quite hard to get hold of i have some coming through from china hopefully sooner rather than later the fire button uses 12mm X12mm X 4mm hope this helps as i dont have many spares i need to stock up with a few broken vamos and the switches are touching the screen so if you arnt experianced with a solder iron i wouldnt attempt it

Do you have "accidental damage" on your home insurance? They've probably black listed you. A broken button on a vamo is begging to be canabalised. I don't know if I can wait until it dies.

It's been a great workhorse but I won't replace it. I was very grateful to be given it when I was only using egos. It made me sit up and see vaping as a way to get off the fags.
