Pretty much the same thing here, Clut.
Lilac, that's sad but unfortunately very true. Money is put above people here too.

Might be worth reading this: www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-12177084Looks to me like it's the folks who actually deliver health care who get to decide what gets spent and how under this new proposal. And given the amount of hospital time I put in in 79/80 due to an RTA, I'd rather the guys who stitched me back up had the say rather than some economics grad who only knows money...

There was a really good panorama on about 3 weeks on this. If this is the person deciding my care I'd be worried.
I suffer with bipolar depression, and used to just get access to whatever healthcare service I needed. I'm currently being assessed under the new system and will be awarded a sum of money and have to get all what I need from this, and have to decide how this money is spent. If your in sound mind having control over what services you access can be a bonus, when you suffer with mental health issues having to make such far reaching decisions is almost impossible. My service provider has already said there won't be enough for what I currently receive and will have to decide which services I cut. I can only see the new bill, if passed making matters worse. Mental health is still one of the most misunderstood of our health problems, and as a result they don't want to acknowledge how wide or desperate current mental health issues are. I for one am very scared for our future.
Rant over.
Happy vaping

As someone who works in the NHS, i can see the rot has started.....staffing is being cut to unsafe levels, basic supplies like incontinence pads, wipes, etc are being downgraded to the type which we stopped using years ago, due to being 'over budget'...
I has always been the intention of the Tory's to privatise the health service, and i really dread to think what's gonna happen.....won't affect any of them or their families of course, they'll be treated in the private sector and will never have to see their mothers or fathers lying in urine soaked beds cos the net pants and flimsy pads can't cope, not to mention the fact that there are no sheets left to change their beds, since we only get a certain number each day, then no more...... Me getting "old" and without dependants to depend on, my current nightmare is that scenario. Also, I've heard first-hand from a relief nurse about the cruelty meted out on some wards she's worked on, where staff formed a conspiratorial clique and anyone bucking the trend was victimised, and that's in a London hospital Anyway, the petition failed scylla
