next weekend Mr C and I go for a nice weekend to Durham -it's 10 years that we met  and we just wanted to do something special but not too far away - any good ideas for Durham - specially restaurants and pubs - hubby is not good with walking but can manage a short distance - thanks

Hate Durham. Up & down...Up & down.
I live on the Co.Durham/Tyne & wear border.
Half way between here and Durham is Chester-Le-Street. Smaller, nicer, Riverside Park, decent pubs. A castle but no cathedral, but who needs one?

we have booked the hotel in Durham already - a lot of people said it's a really nice place

Yep..been there...too expensive. Also, did not even have needle tip refill bottles in stock. Will never re-visit. Online rules.

Outdoor market too. Has a vape stall. Wanted £2 for a 10ml needle tip refill bottle. FFS! Ended up getting them for less than 80p each in the UK online. Honestly folks. LEARNERS BEWARE.

Does really nobody have a nice idea for a cosy pub or nice restaurant - we were recommended the 'champagnebar' - does anybody know it ?

Clivia - I've not been to Durham so can't advise, but it's worth checking out www.tripadvisor.co.uk for restaurants and things in the area. Read a mix of reviews, you'll get an idea of what is to your taste.
