I have two kayfun 3.1 clones from FT - both have been leaking quite considerably from the fill valve. From what I understand, this is quite a common problem on both the clones and the originals, so I wanted to post some ideas on how to fix it from my searches on the net.
Firstly, take the base apart (including the overflow chamber at the bottom, remove the screw in the 510 connector to do this) and clean it thoroughly.
Reassemble, cover the air hole and blow into the drip tip. You shouldn't be able to pass any air through the atty. if you can, the fill valve is probably stuck open.
Cloud9 recommend the following method for fixing it:
This didn't fix the problem for me, although I didn't leave it to soak for very long.
i then took the blunt end of a sewing needle and gently worked the valve back and forth - tiny delicate movements are needed. After working it for a few minutes, I could feel the valve opening and closing, and so I reassembled and had no air leaks with the blow test. I filled it up from the top (I didn't trust the valve), covering all holes and tipping it upside down before releasing it, and so far not a single drop has leaked.
However, the other atty I have still has a tiny gap after doing all of the above. If I force water down the wrong way, it fire out like a water gun and won't seal.
The only solution I have found for this is to use a small amount of heat glue to seal the valve up, and then always fill from the top. I'm reluctant to do this until I've exhausted all other options of course, as it will render the fill valve unusable.
Any other solutions people have tried will be welcomed - please let me know!

I fill my from the top and tilt it upside down while screwing the top back on after its been partly screwed, after doing this I will put finger over air hole and then take some primer inhales while firing the mod. Never used the fill hole method.

stamina - The trouble is that if the valve is stuck open, it doesn't matter how you fill it I usually fill from the top as well, but recently bought some of the luer tipped bottles from cloud9. I've hardly used them!

I have had a stuck valve on my Kayfun v2.1ES but not the v3.1ES, it's the same principal in both though
I soaked the atomiser base in hot water for 5mins then flushed the fill valve with hot water using a syringe and a green tapered tip. I did this about 10 times then back flushed through the E liquid duct to see if it had fixed it. I had to do this repeatedly before the valve operated correctly. You know when the valve is seated properly as when back flushing against a closed valve, water is forced out between the pole insulator and the atomiser base. I takes some budging, you need to persevere and it will work.
What I think happens is that e-liquid dries and gums up the valve. The remedy I have found is after filling you apply the vacuum you mention to make sure the valve is re-seated, then I gently rinse any e-liquid in the fill hole with warm water and dry with a small piece of tissue

My screw is knackered and still doesn't leak, what's with that? The threads have been shot since I got it.

Screw is for air adjustment. The three holes on the base are, air adjustment with screw, air intake and refill valve.
If the refill valve sticks open it allows air in when you draw and leaks liquid.

That ghost refill looks a great idea. Thought about drilling a hole in the original mid section but there isn't enough thread length.

Nice idea vigowomble, it will certainly make the filling easier, but I'm happy filling from the top. The problem is that the valve is already stuck open, so no matter how I fill it, the juice is leaking out. Once I find a way to make sure it's shut, I'll fill it from the top as usual.

Flushing/back flushing took some time but it worked in the end. I've not had a problem since it adopted the 'clean' refill regime. I always use the filling valve as the manual states this about the top fill method; 'It is important to consider that the tank is no longer air tight. This will enable the e-liquid to flow into the evaporation chamber through the grooves (2j). When the cap is screwed back onto the device, this can also form a small amount of pressure which forces a bit of the e-liquid into the evaporation chamber. Both effects can potentially add up to produce a small amount of flooding in the evaporation chamber. This technique can take a bit of practice and should be conducted in a timely manner.'
If your not going to use the valve why not block the e liquid duct with something non-toxic. JB Weld would fit the bill

I'll have another go with flushing it later - thanks @scooby.
As mine is a clone, I've not seen the manual. It makes sense - well all except "...and should be conducted in a timely manner". How very bbc!
