zeldamum for research there is a new vape cafe opened in London, Shoreditch called vape lab. Not sure where you are but might be worth a visit if possible. They have only been open 2 weeks, but have a got a local distribution deal for joy tech and are selling T-Juice, halcyon daze, and just doing a launch for moe juice I believe this weekend. The guys are really friendly and might be will to discuss issues they have found in setting up if you won't be competing for the same customers.

A much closer option for some research would be the vaping lounge that the B&M I linked to have just opened in Plymouth. I still haven't found the time to take a look, but in my limited dealings with them their staff have been quite pushy and they don't sell anything I need at a price I'd pay.

I wouldn't expect them to be too helpful if you mentioned your shop either, but I suppose you would be competing for more custom with them than a place in London.

Unusually I may be in Plymouth on Saturday so i might just go and have a nosey around. I can't stand pushy staff, I tend to walk out if staff try the hard sell.

ETA:- just looked at their website and Facebook page, very expensive. Save 70% compared to smoking, only if the shinitis doesn't get you

They are one of the reasons I started to look online for stuff and came across AAE-C.

But if people can't/don't want to look online or think that everything sold is all the same and won't be any cheaper online, they'll pay those sort of prices.

zeldamum - Damn I miss houses that look like those. I went to college about a mile away from you (Dolcoathe over at Tuckinmill, engineering workshops as part of my Geevor apprenticeship)
Enough! So... There's definitely money to be made (I think the profits truly lie with the juice... ) but as others have said, get the mood right and people will come.
Here Up North (Berkshire - go on, snigger you English folks who live even further North but understand, where I come from, Camborne is Up North) .... Up here in Berkshire, we've a few Vape Shops and one in particular (two now, but the same folks) feels like it's got the right balance - equally comfortable with people coming in to chat as people coming knowing what they want to buy and all those inbetweenies. And because the staff project that atmosphere, this becomes part of the nature of the customers as well.

The second shop even has sofas (still to use it... must pop over... footfall there is less but I can see it being a destination shop rather than a footfall shop and succeeding.

I think there's two other opportunities out there (especially in Kerrier, which is not economically comfortable) - guest juices (mentioned already) and mixology (that's either going to be a trade killer or trade maker) - lets assume worst case and the majority of my favourite juices will no longer be economical to be made / sold... I will be actively hunting multiples of ten ml bottles of unflavoured 19.9mg/ml juice, either pure PG or Aqueous VG, with no added extras. And concentrates. (this assumes I can't find the inevitable black market)... As with all of this stuff, though, is hard to compete with on-line sales and grey imports. So.. it's back to the person.

It's your passion - go for it - as you know, you can always have a dual use type shop....

You wouldn't recognise the place now. Holman buildings have gone completely, Tesdo and a housing development there now.

Once I have got the shop up and running and all the start up niggles out of the way, mixing supplies will be on the shopping list along with recoiling supplies and a sofa. For now people will have to put up with a window seat and a couple of bar stalls and the smell of coffee of course.

Trying to sort out opening times. At the moment thinking closed Sunday/Monday open Tuesday-Satuday 10-5pm.

zeldamum you could also transfer this Guide into a PDF format and mess around with it a bit...i.e edit it to your own preference and print it out in a small format to give to customers.
