Hi all - I know all about back ups for your back ups but.....
So I've been very happy with my aqwa itaste (http://**************/e-cigarettes-starter-kits-innokin-itaste-express-vv-black-replaceable-kit.html) for over a month now. Vaping 6mg strawberries and cream from joose juice.
Last week I decided I needed some new clearomizers so I bought 5 x iclear 16 (as they looked exactly the same as the one that had come with my kit).
Package arrives and it's got a tick box insert that says something about ...OHMs. And suddenly I panic as I haven't really been paying much attention to the technical side of all this.
I add the new clearomizer, drop in some new juice. Happy days. Suddenly the whole thing gets very hot, the lights start flickering and now.... nothing.
I've shorted it haven't i?
AAAAAAAARGH.

It says it can take any 510 atty though so either it was a faulty coil or the piece of kit is a piece of shit.
Doesn't sound like you did anything wrong, sounds like something is faulty.

Hi wolfvape, are you saying the aqwa itaste has stopped working now? doesn't it have short circuit protection built in?

Hi enjay and Adam78.
I honestly am at a loss to work out what's happened. The new clearomizer thing that I bought looked exactly the same as the one that came with the kit and I was using it in exactly the same way as I had been using the previous one for 4 weeks. I don't think the kit (i.e. the battery - the itaste thing) is at fault. But I think the new clearo was. Am hoping UK ecig cabin can shed some light....
And yes Adam78. The entire aqwa iTaste has now stopped working. Not even a flicker of power, even when it's plugged in. It's just died.

Make sure it has charge and try switching it back on without an atty then fit one and check the ohms, I presume that one can do that?

It should come back on again. The I-clears you have just got wouldn't have been less than 1.5ohm. Regardless of what voltage, wattage you used on the battery surely it should have just burnt the coil, got hot maybe yes, cut out temp yes, stopped working altogether- no. Either it will still work, or it was on its last legs, the new I-clears shouldn't have damaged it.

Regardless of how long I charge it for, the battery element is just dead. No lights, no display, nothing :-(

I'm almost certain that the iclear couldn't have done this, do you have a link to what you bought?

I don't think it will have been the iclear 16's fault, if it had a wonky coil the short circuit protection (I'm presuming it has that) will have kicked in.
Sounds like the battery inside has died, contact the vendor and say you'd like a replacement.
Have you not got another battery, just an ego or something to use?

I know I should have another battery but I've been a smug newbie, happily bowling along with just one piece of kit......Thanks for all your thoughts.

Yeah sounds like a technical fault in the gear rather than anything you did. Obviously a big pain for you, maybe there's a local shop, where you can pick up a spare, like has been suggested.

Nothing you bought or did was wrong, either the battery was faulty or the I-clear was faulty, you had no way of knowing.

wolfvape..... Don't beat yourself up too much over this mate ... Vaping kit goes wrong from time to time ... If you are dependant on it then the old adage of having a back up .. And a back up to the back up applies... The I tastes are made to be used with Iclear 16s at all the ohm ranges they sell so it's unlikely, as others have said, that that's the cause It does sound like your I taste might have gone pop , especially as you describe that it got very hot ... Complain to the vendor .... You may still be within warranty period. ... If not complain anyway ! This is ukecigstore warranty policy These items come with a one month guarantee and have a life expectancy of 3-6 months. This does not affect your statutory rights. The guarantee covers any manufacturer defects and covers any repairs, or replacements, if deemed to be faulty or beyond repair. If the product has been damaged in any way by the customer we reserve the right to refuse a refund or return Hope you get it sorted
