I smoked for 35 years, about 15 a day. About 6 weeks ago I got an awful chest infection, the doc gave me antibiotics which helped a little, but I was left with a terrible wheezy chest which was keeping me awake at night, ( I dreaded night time, wheeze, cough, wheeze, cough for hours), decided smoking really wasn't helping matters, so decided to give the cig a likes a go. Didn't go too bad, but was still smoking a few fags as well. Anyway came across a fairly new shop in Par Market demonstrating as well as selling vaping gear and Ejuices. Chatted to them for a while and they let me try out some juice, they were very helpful and answered all my newbie questions. So I bought some basic gear and a few tobacco juices and gave it a go! Just to say nearly 3 weeks later, I've only had one fag, love the vaping and I've collected quite a few new shineys and juices, and I absolutely love vaping! The wheezing has gone, no coughing and I sleep like a log. Oh, and I no longer stink of fags! I would thoroughly recommend all smokers to give it a go, they might be surprised how good it is. I certainly won't be smoking any fags ever again

I've not had a cough or cold since starting Vaping. Maybe I should have rolled up a little PG with my GV.

Voted Although I smoked a packet a day for many years I had managed to halve it and then halve it again until I was down to 3 or 4 a day. Problem was my whole day would revolve around when I could light up (and I often used to smoke half, then the other half later) so smoking was constantly on my mind. Giving them up completely and taking up vaping instead has freed me from all that

I started with the cigalikes and didn't do too well, but I desperately needed to stop smoking or at least cut down. Found this fab forum and got some great advice and bought my first ego...that was in December last year. Unfortunately I had a lot of stress and soon went back to the stinkies. I was furious with myself, but couldn't understand how everyone on here had 'done it' and were living better quality lives and I wasn't! Did more research and then realised that I wasn't using the correct strength of nicotine! Started again - with huge excitement, I must admit, in early March - says so on my banner. And YES! Done it! Have not smoked a single stinkie since. I'm on 24mg at the moment but I'm OK with that for the time being. I VApe Tobacco flavour during the day and then, after dinner and usually a couple glasses of wine, I make a coffee and have a chocco-mint vape. I LOVE it and the benefits? Well, like everyone else has said, I feel alive again. I'm down to using my inhalers maybe twice a week; my blood/oxygen absorbtion is up to 98 per cent (astham nurse couldn't believe it) and I no longer snore like a dirty old docker! The cough has gone, but the oddest thing is; people keep telling me how well I look and how lovely my skin is! I'm 57 (A young one, I have to add - no way I'm growing old gracefully thank you!) and I've NEVER had good or nice skin. What a bonus! A bit of honesty now. My son, who is 25 and has had the occassional stinkie told me ages ago about e-cigs and I poo-pooed it as rubbish. That was about 3 years ago. He's also had the v occassional 'naughty' smoke - hell, he tells me everything ??? Anyway, a couple of weeks ago he told me he had bought an evo, same as mine, because he wanted to try out some of the flavours - no nicotine - but just different flavours as he hoped he would find it relaxing. He's the one that introduced me to chocco-mint! I know he uses it a couple of times a week when he gets back from the gym or running...but as far as he is concerned, nicotine is a big no-no! So I'm not sure whether he's been encouraged to vape becuase of me, or not, or whether I was because of him? Hey-ho. Anyway, a big thank you for this forum. Had I not had found you, I would most definitely still be smoking...Cheers m'dears! ps - we have a few visitors recently and they have all commented on how lovely my house smells.

I would have to say it is no surprise that the majority of members on this forum are of 40+ age group , whom have been smokers for more yrs they now wished they hadn't , myself included , for some resulting in some form of effects from smoking or realised its time to quit before any effects seriously take hold from smoking , ( quit while ahead sort of speak ) I agree that yrs ago smoking was the norm without as much as a second thought about it for most , but today is today and the focus has been on health for a few decades now with the fad for fitness / health clubs , then the food dictators, don't eat this don't eat that ect , then came the time to hit the smokers ( pub smoking ban ) increases in the cost of cigarettes and if I am honest I have got to say I am glad it happened in a way because I would not be here on this forum having been a happy participant in vaping for over 12 months now and not a single craving for a cigarette, also I do feel the health benefit from not smoking as will most of you , as for the young ones they will do as they do as we did , hopefully they will learn / realise in time as we have.

I smoked from the age of 14 for 43 years ... 40 a day at the end. I stopped immediately in August 2007 when diagnosed with mild COPD by going cold turkey and I stayed off the cigs for over 5 years. However, there wasn't a single day during those 5+ years that I didn't crave nicotine but I resisted (stubborn by nature). One particularly stressful day I was sorely tempted but rather than undo all of the effort that I had put in, I bought a disposable cigalike when filling up at the local filling station. That was over a year ago and the rest is history

I smoked 20 years...Few months ago I try Blu cigalike, but didn't do job for me.Then buy e-cig from local shop.Experience wasn't that great, that's why was searching in internet for more info and that's how end up here:) Despite poor drag and almost no vapor manage to be smoke free, after kindly advice from members here bought new tank and 12th day enjoy vaping It's all matter of will power,so be strong and keep going guys Forget to say been smoking 20 a day back in Bulgaria, here in Scotland about 10-15 roll ups Amber Leaf a day.
