Back again.
Still happily vaping with our evod kit but a few issues/questions about the coils please!
Replaced my first one after about a week. A few days later I noticed the fibres/threads were really long on one side and short on the other. I thought I'd gently pull the short side to even them up but the short side fell out completely leaving the other side exactly the same. Does that usually happen or did I get a duff one?
For replacement coils should I just go back to myepack or is there better ones out there?
Thank you!

if you - even gently pull out the wick - it alters the coil - so now use any more - 2 options - yes go back to myepack - or think about making your own coils - which means also - don't throw away the coils you have right now

The evod coils have several bits of wick on them - one that runs through the coil, and two little pieces of silica on top called "flavour wicks". Essentially, they're supposed to stop too much juice getting in and flooding the coil. It's likely you pulled out a flavour wick, but to check you can pull off the top post and look at what wicking material is left in the coil. If there's not a wick in between the heating element, it's a gonner. It's been a while since I bought them, but MyEpack has very competitive prices on everything - I'd be surprised if there's a cheaper option out there. Save your dead coils, because you can learn to make your own coils and rewick them yourself. Super-Shiny has written a very good guide - I'll find it for you. Not something necessarily for straight away, but it'll save you money in the long run as you won't need to buy replacement heads, and the vape on a rebuilt head with a. Cotton wool wick is better than the shop built ones.

Is there nothing left in the side you pulled out ? Reason I ask is you may have just pulled out the flavour wick which just sits on top of the coil rather than the wick which goes through the coil. Flavour wicks are optional and some people take them out on purpose. Maybe it's still fine

Thank you for the compliment but my Husband is rather good with "hands-on" stuff so will probably follow your guide to replace them himself lol. I have thrown the others away but will go back to myepack buy some new ones and experiment with making our own from there. Useful info about the flavour wicks too so thank you all!

smithyjules Go for something about 2.0ohm - that will give you an average vape. Some people prefer a vape with more bite, so go for a lower resistance, others like a smoother vape with less throat hit, and opt for 2.4ohm. Maybe try one of each, with the same clearomiser if possible and the same juice, so that you can evaluate them side by side, as it were. When you coil your own, you can of course adjust the ohms resistance by the number of wraps you make, and after a time experience will dictate what you prefer. Could you let us know what type of battery you are using - that may make a difference to the head we recommend too.
