Hi this has been known to effect a very very small % of users, like a lot of prescription drugs a small % of the population will have very adverse side effects.
I used it back in the day, did it work ? Hell yeh, but it still took willpower, it got me of the ciggies and broke all the mental associations I had with smoking ie morning smoke, tea smoke, after meal smoke, alcohol related smoking etc.
Yes I'm vaping now, but it's more of an enjoyment thing rather then I must have a vape now or I'll explode .
I found the drug to be very useful.
Cheers mr p.

I had a mate who took them and it turned bad. She ended up on anti depressents for 9 months after never having any depression in her life before, alright now though.

And this drug has been passed by the health people as 'safe to use'!!! Why in hell's name are e-cigs being sooooo crucified by the media, when a 'passed' smoking cessation drug like this is still being prescribed

And this drug has been passed by the health people as 'safe to use'!!! Why in hell's name are e-cigs being sooooo crucified by the media, when a 'passed' smoking cessation drug like this is still being prescribed Chantix / Champix is one of those too good to be true things - it's clearly very good at what it purports to do but hell fire, if there's any latent or diagnosed mental health illness then it's one of those Roulette games showcased in The Deerhunter. This is what those wonderful people at NICE have to say about it publications.nice.org.uk/varenicline-for-smoking-cessation-ta123Read through it and see if you can spot any warnings or considerations relating to mental health, side effects and, oh, as in common knowledge, people being driven to suicide. Didn't spot anything? Nope - nor did I. What bugs me about it is that it's sometimes prescribed by GP's and Smoking Cessation Services without the above consideration (less so nowadays, after that 2011 articles).... Makes I sick...

Back in '08 I did a course of champix and I have to admit I was rough, constantly feeling sick, bloated and disturbed sleep patterns it is not a feeling I ever want to go through again, afterwards I piled on 3 stone in weight and to this day I am still trying to lose it. Within 2 years I was a smoker again so it did not work in my case, it was only afterwards I found out about more of the side-effects and at the time I was prescribed them my family gp happily wrote out the prescription had someone suggested vaping to me back then I would have chosen that option over champix any day.
