Well when I say how to what I mean is this is my method, so far it hasn't let me down. First I use a 14 gauge blunt tip needle, 1.6mm diameter and is a perfect fit in the air hole, a piece of .34mm kanthal and some cotton I wrap ten winds round the needle and leave it with the legs in opposite directions Squeeze it with the tweezers (yes it is blurry lol) And torch it, you want to get the coil at the tip of the inner blue flame Back onto the needle with the coil And place it on the base Like so Give the coil a little lift to make sure it's off the base Now I take a piece of cotton and roll it gently and feed it under the top coil leg Wrap it around the coil And lay it on the ledge like so The other end I fold back over the coil leg and lay it on the ledge on the other side, you'll notice too I've damped the wick with juice, it's just to get it to stay in place Don't completely soak the wick, just wet it a bit and make sure the coil is nicely covered or you might get a bad taste And that's about it. I then just put it all back together and fill from the bottom, this has worked flawless for me every time. If you get gurgle etc the chances are you used to much juice when wetting the wick during the build so yeh, keep that sparse. If you do have a little bare section of coil simply cut a tiny piece of cotton and stick it over it, it'll stay in place fine once wet anyway. Cheers all, any questions just ask Just a quick edit, I've now got a proper ohm reader for coils and this one comes up at 1 ohm, if you want it a little bit higher you can simply use .32mm wire instead, that should take it up .4 ohms or so.

It's all good IMO, good coils = good vape.

I've still got a few coils to try, so far it's been the box standard kanthal and silica, the shotgun, this one, navy nest and I've come across some more to try out lol. But, this chimney has by far been the best for me personally, just works every time and comes up at 1.2 ohms which is good on a mech.
Also messing with my russian clone, drilled the air hole to 2mm, drilling the drip tip and I'll be fixing the crappy threading in the fill hole. My aim is to get proper clouds like a dripper lol

enjay - thanks for the tutorial - a question; I have some .32 Kanthal on its way, how many turns will I need to get about 1.5ohm? I'm using the shaft of a jeweller's screwdriver which is about 2.5mm - I need it that big so I can feed the cotton wool in with my crap eyesight!!

Don't guesstimate unless you know what you're doing.

The cotton goes around the outside and not through the coil in this build, the coil sits directly over the air hole so the air can pass right though the centre, that's why I use such a small item such as that needle. If you used the same sort of size you'd end up about 1.5ohms using the .32mm.

Thanks enjay - I meant for the 'normal' microcoils on my Russian, not your chimney coil, which I will definitely be trying once my wire arrives. The fiddlyness of these coils is far outweighed by the vapour and flavour they pump out!
