Ok, for what should be a simple atty to set up, I seem to be having a multitude of problems To be clear - I'm not using a spheroid, but I have a Gus Aiolos and an Xplora by Pheonix Mods, both of which are almost identical to the spheroid. In both, in particular the Aiolos, I'm struggling to get it to wick properly and I'm having dry hits. I'm using the microcoil/cotton wool set up as given by Super-Shiny, with a 1.3ohm coil. The filler seems fine - it's not wrapped to tight, it's even and neat, and it's soaking the juice well. The wicks and coils are as I usually make them, I can microcoil and cotton wicks blindfolded. The wicks are touching the filler as far as I can tell - I point them up as I put them in, but not too far in that they rest on the centre post. Any help would be appreciated! I've been using the Xplora at work all day without issues, but then I cleaned and rebuilt it this evening as I ran out of the juice I was using, and I've had slow wicking ever since. The Aiolos hasn't worked properly yet, which makes no sense as it's exactly the same set up. Bluefish - your suggestion about lifting the coil has made a big difference to the flooding in the Aiolos, many thanks. I've yet to try a silica build, but I'm not sure if that would make a difference anyway. I'm willing to try it if it's going to help.

Ok, it's early days, but I think I've made some improvements. I typed that lot up after spending the evening working hard on the set up. I think the wick was slightly too long, was curling over and only making contact with the centre post.
However, I'm still interested in anyone's thoughts if you have had a similar problem!

I think rigdriver has an Aiolos, but could be wrong. Was considering getting one when I buy another g16 mod so will be keeping an eye on this thread.

If it's dry hits I would try having the wicks a tiny bit longer for a bigger contact area, but i don't use Cotton wool so may be talking ballcocks. Flooding shorter wicks dry hits longer wicks
