Ok, so I’m pretty new to vaping. Like most people I started out with a cig style one and now I have bought myself an itaste vv with iclear 16 clearomisers.
Compared to the cig style one, I seem to find the vapour quite harsh and leaves a dry taste in my mouth, what could be causing this? I have bought a few different juices but they have all been 18mg nicotine and 70/30 or 80/20 pg/vg. Even on the lowest voltage and wattage settings I seem to find this.
Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

Vaping does tend to dry you out a bit so keep up liquid intake. Higher pg gives more throat hit and so does higher nicotine levels. My suggestion would be to try a 50/50 juice and maybe drop down the nicotine level a touch. When i started vaping on an ego kit it took me 2 weeks until my throat and mouth got used to it. Greetings and To AAEC sirvapalotAs Roscopecotrain says above, welcome to a classic problem most folks suffer when using a 2nd/3rd generation device. This will indeed pass, but if you do perseve then the rewards of greater flavour and a more satisfying vape experience will be yours for the taking.

Greetings sirvapalot . The iclear16 can give a harsh taste to some strong tobacco and coffee flavoured juices and the 80% pg won't help. You could try ordering some 50/50 ratio juices enjuice.com/ and www.mrslord.co.uk/ are two vendors who mix at 50/50 and vendors such as www.health-e-vape.co.uk/ and Joose Juice let you specify your on ratio. Also you could try evods for stronger flavoured eliquids these give a cooler and mellower vape. I use an iclear 30S for strong flavours but they look a bit top heavy on a itaste vv!

Thanks for the warm welcome, this is definitely the friendliest and most helpful board around! I think I'm just going to get a huge range of juices from www.smokerainbow.com to try and find the style/strength that suits me best and go from there. I was never a huge smoker so something lighter makes more sense I guess. I'm going to give the evods a go as well. I've also heard a lot about the protanks, how do these vary from the i16s? Also, I've seen a lot of different manufacturers selling protanks and evods. Are these names given to the style or tank or are they a brand name that other companies are just ripping off?

Not a fan of evods myself, I prefer the size and clear-see-through tank of the Kanger T3S. I'm also not a fan of Protanks (oh dear, you can see where this is going .... I'll hide in my shed for an hour or so). If I want to full-sized tank, I'll use an iClear30 S - that's an S with that... (oh no, more incoming.....) I also use rebuildable atomizers (RBAs) but that's another thread. The thing is, I am an odd-ball. I use all sizes of e-cig from "looks like a plastic fag" to "looks like an industrial vapour contraption"..... The smallest tank I use is the mini Protank 1. For medium, the T3S and for large the iClear30S. . oh, and just to add.... YES! there are endless copies and clones of everything. I tend to avoid them. If they are not made by the original manufacturer I don't buy them. (some are good, some are worse, some might even destroy your batteries....) d'you feel lucky? ....

Don't buy from china - bad warranty and takes weeks/months to come Check out our vendors on the vendors thread (should be somewhere around this section) and buy from a reputable vendor Protank and evods are a type of clearo/tank. I have a davide which is a variant on a protank and love it. Does the job - is not too impossible to rewick and cheap as chips even in the uk (£15 max plus postage). I have no idea about the i16s having never used on. I just like my davide. It's a single coil (some clearos/tanks have dual coils) and should be fine on your VV/VW. Try myepack which is a good vendor and does the heads as well. I don't know if they have a discount code on here or not. Maybe worth checking out. Some reputable vendors though you are paying for their inheritance. I'm thinking totally wicked mainly which was one of the first UK e -cig vendors. But yeah.....if in doubt about a vendor check the list or ask Hope that helps

I'm going to give the evods a go as well. I've also heard a lot about the protanks, how do these vary from the i16s? Evods and Protanks are both bottom coil clearomisers sirvapalot and they tend to give a softer vape than a top coil like the Iclear16, the less throaty vape may be more to your liking. Welcome to you.

Thanks for all the help guys. I've just bought a mini protank with airflow valve (anything adjustable can only be a good thing right?) from myepack. I've also ordered around 20 samples from smoketherainbow to try out the different strengths.
Now to stand waiting for the postman for the next 3 days
