just to return this thread to some sort of decorum........ I would go poundshop/supermarket/whatever for a cheap cig-a-like rather than contemplate sticking something burning in my mouth Have noticed that Saturday nights can go a bit off topic ... must be too much of the

Never normally leave the house without a couple of devices but as others have said I can go for much longer without vaping than I ever could when I was on the stinkies.
Would need to be really desperate to even think about going back on the analogues so recon I could last a couple of days till I could get some proper kit !!!

The reason I brought up this subject relates to the times I have been off the smokes at various times in the past and the situations I have been in when the craving for a fag has reared its ugly head.
Going on that basis, I imagine that if I found myself with a duff e-cig, the cravings for "something" with a nicotine kick would double or treble in strength just knowing that there was nothing in my pocket to do so.
On holiday in a strange place where you did not know what shops sold what, I would be extremely lucky to find any type of shop openly advertising e-cigs and whilst there will probably be a lot more this coming summer than there has been in the past, it is still easier to find a shop that sells cigarettes than it is to find one selling e-cigs.
Last summer a visitor to our area asked me where he could buy an e-cig. Now I walk around all the time with an e-cig on a lanyard that everyone can see so I guess I am the obvious person around here to ask. Well truth be told, I couldn't help him as no one sold them then. Today I could point him to 3 shops within 100 yards and one 2 miles away that sells the e-cigs and the e-juice.
Yes there are more and more places stocking them and yes, hopefully soon everywhere that sells cigarettes will also stock e-cigs, but in the meantime, I will continue to make sure that I always carry a back-up, if only for my own "peace of mind".

Same here, 2 years ago there was nothing here, now even Asda have elites next to the patches and gum. There are a few b&m shops too and the pound shops sell disposable ones. They are certainly becoming more mainstream and I don't get funny looks using one anymore.
