 Hiya guys, did ya'all miss me, well I'm back sort of. All upgraded to Windows 7 and still trying to find my way around things since getting machine back last night at around 8.30pm. Was up till 4am this morning reloading programmes, installing over 200 windows updates, transferring all my backed up documents and browser bookmarks and then this morning downloading my email account along with importing all my settings & emails etc etc etc. Flippin Eset Security software wouldn't let me download the email account, was pulling my hair out, got to get that all configured now too. Printer won't work till I download updated software for it - everything is all in different places so am having a hard time sorting it all out at the moment. What a nightmare. After working with XP for over 10 years this is not that easy for me. I want me XP back  I'm sure I'll get used to Windows 7 but it just seemed so much easier when I knew where everything was with the XP  I'll be back with you guys properly later, after I've got everything sorted out and can relax once again. This is all I really wanna do right now  am totally worn out mentally.

I remember when my old computer was Windows XP, then got my new one which is Windows 7 and I hated it, it is just that we get used to one system and fine it hard to adjust to a newer one. I love Windows 7 and after reading all the complaints about Windows 8 I will not be upgrading to it. |

Welcome back toots... I thought I had XP when I first saw the announcement and started to panic. But it's Vista on my laptop and W7 on my desktop, which is in another room, so it's mainly the laptop as I like to have the telly on in the background. Don't know why I waffled on about that, but it is nice to see you back. |

Must be me but i love windows 8.1...it's fantastic, once tweaked not much difference between XP apart from it being a lot faster and more update friendly.

toots - welcome back, we missed you! I've got XP on my work laptop, and they won't pay to have it upgraded, so I think I'll have to raid my savings and buy a new faster laptop. Got a budget of £400 so should be able to get something decent for that.
