It was printed in 1909 and contained a bewildering array of misinformation by today's standards. Everything from how to boil an egg to cures for syphilis! As you said the original google.

I don't know whether to be shocked and appalled that you did that to an antique book or to be in awe of how cool it is. My inner bibliophile is screaming 'you hurt a book, why would you do that!' Lol.

A book like this, produced in thousands is of no use to a book collector, I picked it out of a skip and gave it a new purpose.

I have a set of 72 volumes(with yearly updates)1960 Britannica, but they are too valuable to chop up. From the late 60s they started to edit them and remove instructions on how to make "hazardous substances" and mine are unedited.

I had the same set but sold them when I remarried as the wife knows everything

All the nonsense is recycled and may make sense in the future.
I plan to re-purpose many things in the future and if it saves them from becoming land fill all the better.
