Lol @slippage and decoy.I have up after pulling it apart and inspecting that the wick was not burnt. I put it back together after realignment and same thing so gave up. At about 4am after feeding the bubba and another burnt taste I went to see what I could do. I saw the post about covering the hole and taking a couple of puffs and that seemed to cure it. Then I battled with a whistling sound that was bugging me. All is working well I think although I am wondering if I used too much cotton wool.I definitely think i have a problem with the taste of the wool though and also woke this morning with a sandpaper throat, so will try a smaller amount and then look for the organic sterile one.if not then i will try with the silica. Thanks for the support guys

Lol indeed, i have a bag full, will boil some me thinks as i cant stand the taste of cotton wool If its not organic cotton wool expect a sore throat as most of the normal cotton wools are bleached white. when you get to coiling your own ekowool is fine ,i used the 2mm for a while befor the navy nest way. oh Mrsmac ......

There has been a big discussion on here before about organic / non organic cotton wool, organic is just the way it is grown, if cotton wool is white it has been treated & bleached the same as normal cotton wool so it makes no difference. The general consensus was as long as it was 100% cotton wool it made no difference organic or not. I myself have used Tesco own brand cotton wool balls for a few months now with no problems, just make sure they are 100% cotton with nothing added ( like perfume or lanolin etc) EditForgot to add I have never washed cotton wool first either

I'm with fiddles - 100% cotton wool is all you need, and I've never boiled it either. Your coil and wick looked ok in the picture. The taste you get - is it with every vape, or is it ok at first? If it starts off ok then you have too much cotton, and it's drying out. Or it's not wicking correctly, so make sure the cotton is aligned with the juice channels when you put the chimney on, and give it a little fluff. It's worth it when it it goes right!

Just a bit stange how i get a sore throat from the supermarket 100% cotton wool and its whiter than white with nothink on the reverse about bleaching ect ect ,From the organic 100% cotton wool that has a slight browner more natural look and also feel to it and dosnt give me a sore throat.
The proof is always in the pudding ,so i would love to know why the sore throat after 100% cotton wool ? Maybe its the %25 of all insecticides that is used in the growth of conventional cotton ? does it get all washed out and do or dont they bleach the cotton wool whiter then white? the packets dont say if it has or hasnt.
God knows hey but thats why i always say to get organic 100% cotton wool, will be intersting to see when mrsmac gets hold of some and tries it ,to see if she gets a sore throat again.

When I get home I will try two things. I will maybe try reduce the cotton and will see if I can get the Ekowool through the microcoil lol

Admittedly the first couple of pulls were ok and then I get the cotton taste.I can still taste my juice but definitely it's grape with added cotton lol. I also think cause my flavor is delicate I detect it more, either that or I just love the taste of silica lol
