I have to disagree with you there Hifi, my Labrador who is super socialised and used to loud family gatherings, went totally demented tonight when a million fireworks where going off she was trying to protect me from all the loud bangs that where going off. It had nothing to do with me being sensitive to them going off, there was at least 12 people here tonight and she wasn't bothered in the least until the huge noise started up outside. I think from previous posts we're just gonna have to agree to disagree on this subject....

It's not so easy either Hifi, when you take on a furry who has these fears already quite deep rooted in their psyches . . . which I know I did with Sammy, because of what went on with him in his life before me.
I tried everything and I do mean everything, drugs/daps plug in's/de-sensitization tapes, all to completely no avail . . . it was less stressful for him to minimize the effect fireworks had, as best as I possibly could.

I'm going to disagree too... Both my dogs are used to loud noises. I'm an avid fan of war movies and have a beautiful Bose sound system that I like to turn way up during a good film. It gets turned up so loud that you can feel the sound waves going through your chest! My two get stressed at real fireworks. Loud battle scenes, fireworks on the tv, suddenly loud noises... none of these bother them, only real fireworks send them mental. Sean
