Very, very sad. Spent her whole career at that school, and was loved and respected by the pupils, bar one... who has destroyed so much in one stupid and evil act. She was probably about to retire soon, after teaching three generations.

Wonder what his defence is going to be?... 'I was misundertood'.

I have not heard any more about it other than the link above, so no idea why, not that there really could be a why, but she has lost her life, her family have lost her, and what exactly will he get???

Just so very pointless...........an experienced teacher gone and a young life wasted.

I'm waiting for the kneejerk reaction from the "media" now about how we must all start using plastic cutlery to enable a ban on bladed instruments.

A lot of schools around here anyhow, do use plastic cutlery, and only forks and spoons, no knives.
I remember when I was in America one time and my friends daughter who was 15, told me how she had to eat her school lunch with a plastic spoon, and a plastic rounded pronged fork, no metal or knives allowed I thought it was crazy at the time.

These are quotes from some of the comments section of a local Yorkshire newspaper website...

This is no different in this case, we are all to blame. Jesus preached forgiveness. We should forgive this boy, let him have an education, so he can get a proper job and learn from his mistakes.

We should all have tried to reach out to him and help him earlier. I am sure we all agree that prison isn't a sensible option for this boy, he needs education - though it probably wouldn't work if they sent him back to the same school.

I don't think the school will let him go back, probably not soon, anyway, but being a church school i am sure they will follow the teachings of Jesus and the ways in which he taught us to forgive others for they know not what they do. We must all learn to forgive. This boy needs our help, he's clearly confused.

Is it me, or have the 'do gooders' finally taken over and sod the rest of us who try to do good to our fellow man / woman. I want to say so much more, but have resisted. Just to say... God help us all!

That is scandalous, if he was such a good catholic boy he wouldn't have done it in the first place.
No where in the bible or catholic teachings does is say, stab to death your teacher if you are having a bad day.

It's beyond awful, there's not much else I can say . . . other than to be deeply saddened for this lady and her family.

And yet again to be shocked at this world that we now live in.
