That about sums it up according to that research boyofford. No doubt it was funded by big pharma. NYT has a definite downer on vaping.

The premise of the study is good - the vapour produced should be tested, and we know that reactions at different temperatures are likely to create different chemicals.
However, once again the study doesn't take into account current practices. It states that the hotter the coil, the more formaldehyde is produced, and equates this with dripping. But if I use 1.2ohm coils on both my dripper and my kayfun, surely the same temperature applies (ignoring voltage drop)? And what about multiple coil set ups? If I build two 2.4ohm coils for the same 1.2 ohm resistance overall, won't each individual coil burn at a lower heat?
So much more information is needed to draw any conclusions!

Let us not forget that this little pearl of wisdom has come from New York.. The city that has made efforts to Ban PVA's yet does nothing to cure their air pollution problems. During the warmer months of the year, you will have a problem seeing clearly beyond a couple of blocks because of the pollution. Has anybody heard of any attempts to ban automotive devices from the city?

Reads like a cig-a-like company trying to scare the s*** out of people using anything more than an NJoy.
Dirty tactics. Scare people off anything vaguely advanced....

Or it could be valuable research by a fairly respected scientist. Two separate studies. It's also pointless to cite car emissions. The same argument could be used to argue for the use of tobacco and hard drugs, both of which pollute less and kill fewer people. We have more to fear from the EU. The US has little influence on our policy.

The notion that the vapour boils at a higher temperature is a misunderstanding of the physics. You cant change the boiling point of the liquid, if the coil is getting hotter faster then it creates more vapour. there is more heat transfer to the atomiser and less heat loss from the denser vapour by the time it arrives with the user - but the boiling point is ALWAYS the same.

It is clear to me that this a smoking issue - not a vaping one. They are clearly letting the juice run low and getting a glowing coil, which then burns the juice residue and the wicks, making smoke. This is how the FDA managed to find formaldehyde in dried out cartos. So they are not using the devices in a way that a vaper would - its a bit like testing a cigarette by lighting the filter.

In the Doc's comment, he says he tried to vape a Vivi Nova on an evic at 10watts.
Yup, if you breathe that burning coil without successful wicking, it's not going to be good.
