Its driving me up the wall! i plea for help lol

Ok so im having some issues here and its driving me up the walls

I have two tanks both filled with the same juice i made now one is an iclear xi tank at 1.8/2 ohms the other is the taifun

I coiled the taifun with cotton it tasted funny i thought it was the cotton i have tried a few diferent brand of cotton and they all had that funny taste i was getting before.

the XI tastes fine on either the mech or VTR BUT the taifun tastes odd on both ??

So i took to an ohms calc on ejuice me up and worked out that with the XI tank on mech it uses the following

Wattage 6.845
Volts 3.7
Amp 1.85

So armed with this info i dialed those into the vtr W/V but it still tastes odd compaired to the XI tank i then recoiled the taifun again and adjusted coil over aire hole as i thought it could be that but no its not harsh/or burnt it just has an odd twang to the taste compaired to the XI tank i was gettin wound up at this point and the final nail came with splats of aniseed/absinthe juice in my cake hole so i had walk away!


Any ideas ? im at a loss as to why there is a odd taste

does the taifun taste fine with other juice?

If it is new could be contaminates making the juice taste nasty.

It will be the cotton- the innokin will have a silica wick and will add it's own flavour to the juice.
Cotton can strip the flavour on some juices or give them a pure sterile flavour.
I find that with GVC the vape will always be better with silica regardless of attie
Cocomel will also work better with silica my fudge works just as well with silica or cotton.
Just as juice is subjective, so is the choice of wicking material

Cotton can take a bit of bedding in, I would try silica in the taifun though

VapingBad That crossed my mind a few minutes after posting so i stripped it down and washed it in some hot soapy water and gave it a right good rinse with hot water i have not tried it with another juice yet.i will allow it to dry fully and try again tomorrow will also need to order more silica lol

blakey I tried the taifun with both silica wick and cotton each one had the same funny taste compaired to the XI tank with the same juice in it?

enjay Someone did say that but i`d allready used around 1/2 tank of juice through the first bit of cotton and it still had that odd taste ?

In that case I would just try it with silica, I find cotton doesn't work in everything

Put the bottom section of that taifun into a pan of boiling water and boil it for a good 10mins, sounds like you may have some machine oil inside.
Better still, if you have an ultrasonic cleaner you can dump it in there
or a bath in isopropil will clean it out, make sure you give it a good rinse afterwards
Make sure you remove the o-rings before you do any of the above

I just let it soak in washing up liquid and hot water then rinse in hot water and dry, seems to have worked fine for me so far.

Had to use sterilising stuff a couple of times but it's been bevause of other people juice tainting things lol

The machine oil will be inside the base so rinsing in soapy water will not do much, you could try leaving it to soak for an hour in hot soapy water, swirl it about every now and again to get the liquid flowing through its innards.
When done you really need to flush it out thoroughly with cold or hot water.

I honestly did not want to do this incase i broke a o ring but im glad i did,this pot was clean and the taifun had been washed with soapy water then rinsed for a good few mins! look at the crap on top of the water! that is unreal Its back on boil with fresh water.

i got to do this with my russian now i have seen this

I've been boiling these Chinese atties as a matter of course tbh, then they go into an ultrasonic cleaner or an isopropil bath afterwards.
Then they're flushed through thoroughly before re-assembly.
They never clean the buggas properly before they send em

Well im shocked at what came out of it even after a good soapy bath and rinse!.

I dont have anymore of the absinthe mix i binned what was left in the taifun just incase it was tainted after seing what came out of it,i will mix more tomorrow morning and report back if this has fixed it.

I will be boiling any new atty i get from now on.
