New here, ex roll-up smoker now using a Diamond mist e ciggy since New year and 99% tobacco free since.
A couple of questions..... I've been using Diamond mist own brand liquids (24Mg) and occasionaly Osboo which I believe are 70/30 PG/VG and am suffering from a bad attack of spottytis which I believe is a reaction to PG (?), can anyone confirm this?
Second.... If the above is true, which off-the-shelf liquids are higher (or 100%) VG and can I use them in my Diamond mist cartomizer without it clogging up/burning out? Alternatively, are there any that are 100% PEG400?
P.S. Not interested in exotic flavours, just ciggie flavour.
Cheers
Max

I think the most common problems with pg are a very itchy rash and/or sore throat more like an allergic reaction. The spots you have could just be the rubbish from cigs clearing from your system as it's a known side effect of stooping smoking. I would have thought that any pg problems would have shown up before now. I don't know about any juices as I mix my own but joosejuice allow you to select your pg/vg ratio and strength if this helps. They are a well respected vendor and very helpful.

Dont rule out the flavours, I've only recently given up after smoking for 40 years, initially I thought I'd NEED the tobacco flavours but I very quickly found that they were making it HARDER, I wanted to give up smoking NOT change the style of smoking. Within a week I found the tobacco flavours to be disgusting, I got hooked on vanilla mint & menthol flavours, I have now tried more flavours than I'd care to remember and I'm now working through some of the t-juice range, finding them REALLY good.
The smell of tobacco is now revolting, I had to leave a shop the other day because there had been a smoker in there, not smoking in the shop but the smell that emanated from him was overpowering.
Try something a little different, or join in a vapemeet in your area, there will be other vapers who will let you try there juices in a dripper, you will be amazed at the difference.

650maxDoesn't sound like PG to me either, but no harm in trying a VG juice, although VG does tend to clog the atty up a bit faster than PG. I also mix my own these days, but I used to like NUCIG who are VG only. I wouldn't buy anything other than juice from them.

650max I had all that itchy spotty rash when I started vaping. I just took a few ant=histimine tablets like Piriton and it eased off after a few weeks. I switched to lower PG content, drank more water, and shopped around a few online retailers for various e-liquids to try. Well done packing in the stinkies, and good luck with your vaping journey.

Welcome and congratulations to you 650max. I've not seen any PEG about for a while now, personally I found it had a bit of an aftertaste, but that could have just been me. Paula at Vapourworld used to stock it, might be worth a look to see if she still does: vapourworld.co.uk/Even if eliquid is advertised as 100% VG, it's unlikely to be unless an organic concentrate has been used, where the flavouring is suspended in organic glycerine. Most are in PG, with sometimes a small amount of VG or Ethanol/Alcohol. If you're not suffering from any itchy outbreaks, I'd think it's more likely your system de-toxing post smoking. Although a PG sensitivity can show up at anytime, mine did after 18months of vaping . . . it is manageable, using VG home brew eliquid though.

Hya Max, welcome to the forum Congratulations on becoming fag free!!! I do also suspect that skin rash may be your body purging crap from smoking? only because I experienced something similar? but then lowering your pg (throat hit) down to vg (nice clouds of vapour) isn't a bad thing I'm a fan of the vapour clouds nowadays

Thanks for the welcome and advice.
I'm pretty certain I'm reacting to PG, I've prickly itchy scalp, back & shoulders and around my eyes, the spots and lumps are in a distinctive pattern on forehead, eyebrows, nose & top lip and if you drew around the pattern it would look like one of the adverts for sinusitis treatments that show how the tablets/inhaler work. I don't think it's "quit zits", wouldn't they be random?
In the meantime I'll try some Piriton (or similar) and start looking round the local shops/pharmacies to see what other brands are available and what ratio they are.
Cheers
