Hello Everyone
I am trying to prepare for the looming legislative apocalypse but am finding myself very confused . Now, I have an ego c which I use with iclear 16's. The Iclear 16 is not rebuildable if I am correct? this means I have to buy new 'heads' . Now is a head where the coil and wick is stored? I was thinking of buying an aspire Nautilus and was under the impression that I build the coils and wicks myself thus eliminating the need for purchasing new 'heads' am I correct? Also I am upgrading my battery to a vision spinner. I am curious ; is a vision spinner a MOD ? if not what exactly is a MOD ? is it another way of saying: battery? and does a mod include an atomizer ? or is that separate and the same thing as a clearomiser ? sorry for being dense , I just can't seem to get my head around it all , thanks

The Vision Spinner is not a MOD, basically it's a larger sized ego type battery in which you can change the voltage. Look here for basic info on everything, might help you.

Just to offer a word of advice, don't buy loads of everything right now... you are very likely to succumb to further upgrades over the next few months and you will find yourself with loads of barely used kit that isn't likely to see the light of day (believe me, it happens icon_shoppingm) There will be plenty of time to stock up on what you do like if it ends up being necessary. Spend some time reading up on the rebuildables board and reading/watching tutorials and take your time

Take a look at the spinner 2. Not long out. Bit bigger than the normal spinner but should be better battery life.

Oh and shop around to get the best price. I over paid for.my spinner. I paid £25 for it. I have since seen them for £20 online. I did have mine from a B&M store so did not have to pay P&P so it might have worked out about the same. But lots of places do post for free now. So make sure you get the price . More cash to spend on juice then!

A Mod is essentially a battery holder, no more. Some are mechanical and have no built-in electronics, simply a switch which can be mechanical or magnetic depending on the type of Mech Mod. Some mods like the SVD, Vamo, and the MVP have electronics which allow you to alter voltage (Variable Voltage, or VV) and Wattage (VW). They can also give you information on the battery charge remaining, resistance of the coil of whatever's on top, and lots more besides, again depending on model. My suggestion would be to go slowly and perhaps get yourself a Protank variant. PT v1 or v2 will allow you to experiment with recoiling yourself, and be that either silica or a microcoil with cotton wool, both will be an improvement on the stock heads which it has to be said are good. As far as mod is concerned, perhaps a Vamo (which can be got either in this country or direct from China for around £25) would be a good introduction to the world of VV and VW without breaking the bank. Bear in mind however that you will need at least 2 batteries and a good quality charger on top, so this will push the price up a bit. Ask us here for details before committing yourself to a purchase - we may be able to save you a few quid. If you want to go down the mechanical mod route, again, ask us for advice. Personally speaking now, I got a Caravela about a month ago, and haven't used my Vamo since!! I love the smaller form and size, although I do use Kayfun and Russian clones on top, which are advanced atomisers which need rebuilding - you can't just go our and buy a head which screws in. Replacement heads can be bought from the likes of Fasttech, but you will still need to fit them yourself.
I hope all this helps, and makes some sort of sense!

Spinner + iclear 16 will give you a nice vape, but it won't do much for you if the government gets seriously vicious with ecig users.
Maybe someone should start an apocalypse thread. But in the meantime:
Most serious problem is juice, if you use strength higher than 20 mg (or mix your own). You'll need to stock up on nicotine, normally bought from the US at 72mg, preferably kept in glass bottles in the freezer. A litre will probably last you 3 years or so and won't take up too much space in the freezer. After that runs out you'll have to smuggle it. And of course if you don't know how to mix you'll need to learn, which I'd recommend anyway. It isn't difficult, will save you money, and you'll be able to tailor your juice to your personal taste.
The government might prevent the sale of devices like egos, spinners, clearos etc., though personally I doubt it. They won't prevent the sale of the general purpose batteries that go inside mods. You could build a large stock of spinners, but such things don't last forever even when not being used, so better buy some mods. I recommend starting with an electronic mod like a vamo, as they are handy when building coils, but if you are seriously worried about an apocalypse you'll probably want mechanical mods because they are cheaper and less likely to go wrong. You need to do some research before you use them though.
You can rebuild the iclear 16 heads but I doubt if anyone does that more than about once because it is so much hassle. Bottom coil clearos like the evod and mini protank are easier (and the vape is great). Better still, get something which is designed to be rebuilt, like a kayfun or genesis-style atty. They will also survive better, and if you develop some post-apocalypse skills in sourcing rubber rings, drilling out screws etc, you'll be able to make them last almost forever.

The protank mini 2's are a good starting point for making your own coils @alopezg1 even I can do one see supershiny's guides explains it all well. I would start with those and with mixing before moving on to mods. We have a bit of time to prepare. You can't replace the mvp's batteries lal.

ok thanks everyone
I ordered a vision spinner 2 , a kanger aerotank and some replacement heads for my iclears. I got it all for about £50 so am pleased with that. I thought the aerotank was rebuildable but i don't think it is . I am now clear on the rebuildables ... i think . I want to get some of these rebuildable atomizers as i like the idea of being more self sufficient- apocalypse or not- but will wait a while now before ordering more stuff ..... i can see how this stuff gets, well, addictive!

Ok then stupid question, can I replace the battery in my mvp2 if it ever quits on me? Not as far as I know . . . unless someone clever like ronaldo is able to do it for you lal. It almost falls into the category of being ' disposable ' once the battery has exhausted it's lifespan.

never tried but if someone has a broken one and sends it to me for experimental purpose i may just be able to find a replacement battery that is safe and better than the orignal one as i can get access to a lot of industrial batterys that are not on sale to the general publlc

So why is an MVP referred to as a mod all the time?

So why is an MVP referred to as a mod all the time? I think that the term 'mod' refers to any device that holds a battery. It can be a 'mech mod' or an 'advanced mod' but they are both devices which have a battery in them which can be recharged. The MVP and the VTR are charged in situ, whereas the likes of a Vamo take removable batteries that are placed in a charger. Anyone care to add to this!?
