So my little cat, Alma, is due for her kittens any time soon judging by her behaviour and her bulge moving down. By little I mean she is a year and a half and has stayed small, only slightly taller than when we got her at ten weeks.
Now this was my first own pet (I say mine we got her so she could grow up with my little one, Eva) so I really baby her and any odd behaviour I am constantly making sure she is ok. I'm also worried about letting her out atm (She has got a cat litter tray inside) dont want her to have the kittens outside. My oh thinks I'm being silly and she will do it in her own time, but she has had cats all her life.
Noticed quite a few on here have cats so any tips please?
(We had just booked her in to get her bits done when the local tom got her and she went missing for two days, I nearly had a heart attack. Fair to say once she has recovered from her babies she will be going to the vets asap.)

A cat giving birth rarely causes complications, try to relax I got a "neutered male cat" from a cat shelter many years ago that ended up giving birth to (thankfully only) 1 kitten in my lap! I was astonished at how good a mother he she was. And she basically took care of the whole process with very little fuss. It should be a fun experience for all of you, enjoy

I have made a bed for her in a "quiet" place, (difficult to find with a 14 year old and a 1 1/2 year old). It's a bit is she isn't she at the moment, walking a bit like a cowboy haha. Looking forward to it.

She will give birth to them somewhere she feels safe. So that should be somewhere in your home. Might be on your lap. Behind the sofa. Or even on your bed! She will take care of everything. You might find that you wake up one morning and find three little kittens in the living room. Or it might happen when you are there. It would be great if you were there to see it. Most cats make good mums so she whirlpool after them. But I have know people say that they have had to bottle feed a kitten in the past. If you notice one not getting there milk from mum speak to your vet. They will help with showing you how to bottle feed.
Not worry it will be fine and a happy experience for your family,
Good luck

Does she have a favourite hidey hole type place? My cat had her first litter under my bed, whilst I was asleep! I had to tip the bed on it's side to make sure everything was ok! When she had a second litter (she escaped 3 days before her neutering appointment ) I had already put a box with blankets in the bottom of my wardrobe and she had the litter there. She instinctively knew what to do straight away and was a great Mum. Lots of fun times ahead jackcustard, I miss kittens

Cats are strange creatures. My Minky was about your cats age when she had six kittens. I did the usual thing and made a "nest" for her from an old cardboard box and towels. She seemed very interested in it, but when the time came she was sat in front of me in the middle of our lounge and I noticed her whole body ripple from top to bottom, quickly realised what was happening, grabbed her and ran through to the box. She gave birth to the first one 30 seconds later! Happily though, she did keep them all in the box after birth.

She has been doing the same as yours dolly. Not interested in the box I have made. But willing to let us watch them fighting and playing inside her laying in the sun on the lounge floor. She normally doesn't hide just loves window sills. Normally sprawled out on the landing one tbf she is a bit nuts and I'm worried she is just gonna stays nuts once she has had the kittens and not be a mum, but I'm sure she will be fine. My OH had two older cats, one is noticeably old, before we got together but both neutured. They have been making noises like they know something is different. Alma has the most gorgeous coat, chocolatey/fudgey with sand stripes and with her staying small she is super cute. If ones of the kittens is a ginger ball of fluff then we are keeping one but otherwise no, but that is probably subject to change.

as everyone mentioned she will start to disappear [nest] pain in bum but usually it is always for protection of her young, like most animals do,most of ours either behind sofa if its shaded, but all most have been under bed or in cupboard,if you find her in cupboard put a towel down where she most goes, and when time comes if she find thats her safe spot, thats where it will happen, she wont mind you being there checking on amount lol just give her a stroke like a birthing partner that way she will bond you with the kittens to ,if she feels that area feels unsafe she will move them ,when she does was towel and give it back to her ..............
Now the down side kitty training!! if she has them on carpet they will have accidents and yes many say difficult to shift...dont panic...neat white vinegar works

Are you using an app to access the forum jackcustard? I have just tried to upload a pic through tapatalk and it says the forum has disabled image sharing with the app. Trying the proboards app and my internet connection isn't good enough to try it
