Need some advice I am trying to remove the kick ring from the Nemesis clone I have just received from FT. Just can't seem to move it at all. Any advise on how to loosen this thing up.

Any advise on how to loosen this thing up. what part are te you calling the kick ring ? The kick tube is the smallest silver tube that you put the kick in . Do you mean the thin silver section (or gold depending on tj model ) in the middle ? They are a bit stiff initially but should loosen with a tight grip !

They can be a bit of a nightmare. Worse thing you can do is the natural thing and grip it on opposite sides as if you squeeze too hard it will go oval and you'll make it worse. Try gripping at one point only with a finger inside and thumb outside then grip as hard as you can and twist. Another option is try and dip just the kick ring in a cup of boiling water for 10 seconds or so then try again, careful with the hot metal though.

marko697 the `kick ring` is approx 18 mm long. There is also a `beauty ring` which is 3mm long, mainly for usage with `nipple/button` top battery. Not needed for flat top battery. `kick ring`is stuck, use a pair of `marigold`gloves, or wrap rubber bands around kick ring and other connected ring, thus allowing you better grip to loosen. If all above fail to loosen it, pop into the freezer for a hour then try again. Once released clean all threads of all the parts, before re-assembly. Good luck.

Just managed to get the bloody thing of, been trying everything all day the just now screwed it all back together and gave it the slightest tweak and it came straight of. Can't believe it. Many thanks to everyone for the advice.

Pepperty get yourself some noalax compound for all the threads on your mods. Stops oxidisation and ensures threads stay well lubricated, you only need the tiniest amount smearing on. Cloud9 sell it but you might also find it on ebay with cheaper postage None cheaper on ebay www.cloud9vaping.co.uk/epages/yxve46fvrnud.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/yxve46fvrnud/Products/C72-05

Thanks for info Greg, I have come across that name?...but assumed it was 'yet another compound you can only buy Stateside' which has often been the case when I've googled vape 'stuff'. I cant begin to list the bizarre stuff I have bought of late: cape cod cleaning cloths, autosol, pre-welded wires, Isopropyl Alcohol ....the list continues (and gets weirder!) least I'm primed for most eventualities ..... mind you, my teenager just dipped my/her itaste vv in spilt wine and mullered it. Its sat in a tub of rice as I type

a couple of strips of a Marigold glove - nowt grips quite like it and every vaper should have one. Worst case you're going to use the rubber (layers are your friend) to clasp with big bog-off pliers or pipe wrenches.... But that's an absolute worst case (ignoring the angle grinder option) Once you've freed the beastie, clean the threads to the point where they can't be cleaned no more - it's gunk, grit, oxides and grime that's causing it to stick (and ads to electrical resistance). Noalox is pretty good although I hear groans about it being hard to remove. I have some but found the cleaning path better - although it's fair to say that the lock ring on my copper nemisis clone was a real pain (spin smoothly to unlocked and it would jam...) - the solution was to drop the nemesis against a hard concrete patio and bit of a brick which had a knurling effect meaning it's not stuck since (nor is the switch flat straight, mind you)... Good luck
