Welcome to AAEC my only advice is the sooner you get started the better. Once you find what works for you it's a sweet ride from there on in. Ask as much questions as you need/like - no question is too silly and there are plenty of experienced folks about to help you on your way!

jimbo99 - hi and a warm welcome from me too My advice, for what it's worth - once you have decided on what sort of kit you want, please ask here first (maybe start a new thread so it catches peoples' attention) as we may be able to direct you to better kit for a better price. Juice recommendations are all very well, but taste is such a personal thing that once persons' ADV (All Day Vape) can be anothers poison. BE adventurous, tobacco flavours are almost impossible to get right, and anyway, why would you want to taste something you are trying to give up!? There are some lovely pure fruit flavours, lots of mints and menthols, some rich and complex custards and dessert flavours, and some unlikely combinations which work really well, like T-Juice's 'Red Astaire', which is vaping Marmite, you either love it or hate it; must be tried at some point though! Get yourself a good quality starter kit and some juices (18mg would be a good starting place for strength if you were an average smoker, whatever that is!), and get vaping. We can help you with operational issues, cleaning and maintenance, and upgrading once the Shinyitis bites The sooner you get vaping the sooner you will realise that it is a great alternative to the stinkies!

Cheers guys I'm still a little 'overwhelmed' with the sheer variety of stuff available; it seems to be a bit like when Hifi was all black and square, what was the best one to go for I'm not even sure if I am using the correct descriptions when I'm thinking about one product versus another never mind writing it down LOL I think, what I would be after, to start is along the lines of what chykensa is saying - I don't really see the point in emulating the taste of cigs, so - a flavour would be where I would probably go. Cherry? Apple? (too much choice). I have seen some MASSIVE vaping equipment in use but I would probably want 'pen size' rather than cigar sized. One thing that I think I do still want (At least to begin with) is the satisfaction of being able to blow out a stream of 'smoke' (for some reason!) I smoke low tar so I reckon a low/med strength would do me and at least initially as far as flavour goes I suppose I'd be concerned how 'strong' any particular juice would be.

Suggest 12mg /ml (1.2%) as a strength. No idea what flavour to suggest - if you can, visit a B&M shop ( this link is the AAEC B&M map list) and try flavours - or order four or five 5ml sample bottles from, say, vape-escape (See Super-Shiny 's post) along with a mini-protank 3 or two and perhaps an Innokin EP (the kit also contains a couple of clearo's) I took the Grizwald's sampler option (bought quite a few whilst I established what I wanted early on (loved Black Cat)) and how my tastes developed... If you go to the VE Jason 's website and look at normal bottle sizes, you will find descriptions of each (you will now spend a happy if confused sixty minutes choosing) The Mini-Protank 3 is a dual coil and, I think, more likely to create clouds (could be wrong - reckon it won't matter to you after a week or two) - I suggest a couple so you can easily try different flavours. The thing about those big mods, btw, is that people think you've either got a Sonic Screwdriver or Light Sabre - which is wrong because one opens locks with ease and the other is great for removing hands and cauterising at the same time (wrong because it doesn't work - trust me on that). However, in a dark alley with lurkers, give me an SVD in one hand and a VTR in the other and I will feel just a little more secure).

jimbo99 ! Yes it's all a bit daunting when you first open the door to the world of vaping. For comparison I started on the cig-a-likes from the garage, then got an eGO which was rather larger but a much better vaping experience. I'd recommend eGOs to new folk with pleasure. The sonic screwdriver-like kit you see pictured all over aaec will endear itself to you eventually, but no need to rush! It's all fun.
