Is it possible to build a microcoil without using a blowtorch? Would it be as durable?

Is it possible to build a microcoil without using a blowtorch? Would it be as durable? Just done it (kind of).... seems difficult to get the wraps "stuck" to one another. Vapes fine though. I'm happy with a tight traditional wrap. (or even a hot chicken wrap....)

Is it possible to build a microcoil without using a blowtorch? Would it be as durable? Oh yes def. Wrap the coil as close together as you can. Give it a squeeze together once wrapped. If it is going in a dripper or rebuildable fix it into place and then fire it on the mod until it glows red. Let go of button amd squeeze together with tweezers. Do this as many times as you like until the coil glows from the inside out.

YUP! just grip tight off the screwdriver shank/drill bit and then blast under flame of gas hob. Only reason I bought a cheap blowtorch was so I didn't have to move from my work space, but there's no reason why you cant flame your microcoil under the hob :DI'm just lazy! TBH I'm even lazier than that and ordered a bag of tightly coiled from fasttech! (plus loosely coiled, and 1 silica thread and 4 wicks ...plus NR-R-NR wires, also tight coiled/loose coiled/with wick, all cost me a few quid and saves any effort)

I don't bother flaming them any more - as Roscopecotrain explains, I just wrap them as tight as possible and heat them on the mod to burn off any impurities and get the coils as tight as I want them.

There's a thread somewhere about ceramic tipped tweezers. Squeeze on the mod with the power flowing and the coil glowing

Surely everyone has a chef's blowtorch. Essential for lamb shanks. (not rhyming slang by the way).

Thanks all, unfortunately until my kayfun makes it's circle to a helper, I am going to try making one. So I guess I will have to use the hob lol, I hope I can get them close enough cause I have seen some and they look so well made. Really considering the fasttech ones as well but want something that will last as long as the NV coils reportedly last lol

don't use a torch either - wrap them really tight - then have them a few minutes in the spring lock tweezers - the heat them on the mod - with the tweezers - works fine

I've followed your lead peppypoos exactly, I seem to have reasonable fine motor skills still, and my close up vision is good, but whilst I can buy 50 ready made wires.... I will happily pay the 'under £2 cost' one day I may have to make my own but I'm finding that the ready made wires vape fine, so I'll save my own hard work for another day
